very cool to see someone trying to push an NA motor to the max without a turbo or NOS, congrats on the dyno numbers and 1/4 time!

Yea its still vvti, infact a you cant put non vvti heads on a vvti block. It was on a Mustang dyno & it was 100 degrees. Some ppl stay that the Mustang dyno is 8-12% lower than Dyno Jet's. I have yet to see any vvti 400 SC dyno sheets that show them doing the 245-250 numbers bone stock that Ive heard on the forum here. That being said, Ive mostly heard those numbers from the GS400 guys & I do know that the stock GS manifold flows better than the SC manifold. Thus the GS being closer to the 290hp, Lexus claims.

i wonder. is it possible to use a 4.7 litre engine block in a SC400? im not sure what a 3UZ is spec'd out at.

i know what 1UZ and 2UZ have the same displacement.

I really appreciate what you are doing with the 1uz! With the mods you've done I would expect your numbers to be much closer to the 300whp mark you set, especially with the 3uz block. I hope the "missing hp" will materialize on a Dynojet with better ambient temperature.

Keep up the awesome work!

1uz 4.0 2uz 4.7 3uz 4.3

When I did my block swap, there were some skeptics about it being a bolt up job due to the piston design. After I got into the motor & found out that the vvti 400 & the vvti 430 motor had almost identical piston design. That raised the question about weather or not, it was possible to do the same block swap with the 2uz as I did with the 3uz. The 2uz has the same piston design,as the vvti 1uz. You can put non vvti 1uz heads on a 2uz, but you have to custom pistons made.

Excellent. Great flat torque curve. That is MUCH more of the story than so many that just look at the peak HP number. It WILL pick up in cool weather. Glad you are enjoying the Y pipe.

The simulated 1/4 times REALLY demonstrate how important torque CURVE is vs just peak numbers.

Previously you had 14.2 seconds at 97mph
Now you have 13.9 seconds at 102mph
This is 3 tenths quicker and 5 mph faster
This would normally take an extra 30-50hp and you did it with the same horsepower and only 12 more peak torque
This is where dyno peak numbers are so far from the way car performs
