one of my friends went through two R154's in his supra with 300 RWHP, and two other friends go through R154's with less then 400 rwhp..
I wouldn't pay alot more for a R154, but if it was slightly more then a W58 i guess i would get it.. I just thing the 1st gear failure is so common in them they aren't worth paying double the price of a w58 for.

Some people break their v160 with stock twins, some have made 1722 rwhp with the same trans with zero issue.

And why is is that? Lexforlife had issues with his soarer/chaser R tranny, i had a chaser r154 and previous owner had issues with it in the stock form ( it broke).

Buy a Soarer/Chaser R154?
Or Buy a Mkiii R154?
