Default Black Interior swap question

I am in the process of the Tan to Black swap from a 99 to a 92sc but I am now hearing that the Dash cover assy(will only fit 93-00 due to it has the passenger airbag) is it that the dash wont fit or is it that the Air bag wont work??

is there anything esle that I need to know about this swap

thxs in advance

I'm not 100% sure but I would think it would fit but the airbag won't be functional. There might be a chance that the crash bar in the dash is different from the 99 to clear the airbag and if that's the case I'm sure you could modify the dash and airbag to fit. It's not like you're gonna use the airbag any way lol

If you don't carry a lot of passengers I wouldn't let that cause you not to swap it out. Why not just paint everything with SEM paint like several of us have done with very very good results? If you need guidance on this there are several write ups on it on here including mine. In the end, you are not having to swap parts, locate them, then wait on them to arrive, just use your current items and replace what need too and keep your car 100 safe all the time? Just my opinion.

Concerning fitment, I have no idea, but the reason the 99 passenger air bag won't work is because the air bag ecu in the 92 SC is only made to control one air bag

plus one on the SEM option. i did it and love my results so far. high traffic areas such as the scuff plates will not work with the SEM but the center console arm rest is holding up fine!

Thought about the SEM but was like NAW!!! DIdnt want to risk those FAIL type of SEM and I made a deal on 98% complete interior (just missing the pass. door panel and upper window trim) and to repair the leather in my car, clean the carpet, then spray/dye everything would be a pain...but to eachs its own either way Black interior rocks!!!

it should fit, just no working passenger side airbag, but somethings i was thinking you could do (if it fits) is make like a secret/concealed compartment in place of the air bag, sort of like an extra glove compartment, idk if its possible to fab something like that but itd be kind of neat if you can
if it doesnt fit, bite the bullet and SEM then make a profit off the black dash you have, itll sell fast

I've had my SEMed black interior pieces in my SC for almost 2 years now and I have not touched up one single panel that was SEMed yet. No real discoluration from the sun that I have really noticed so far and no one can ever tell my interior was SEMed. Everyone thinks I got the real deal black pieces.

I havent had to respray any piece due to the sun or heat. The only thing that I have repsrayed is the seats, one time, and the side trim pieces where people drag their darn feet when getting in. Other than that its perfect, like the day I sprayed it. I want to add to the spraying of the seats again, was due to the SEM leather/vinyl filler coming through. I resanded it again, then repsrayed. Looks better than it did the first time. I must had put the filler in too deep or didnt let it dry good enough. There are several people on here who have seen my interior in person.. They all likey.. likey..

It will fit if you swap the 99 harness bar. While your there install the pass airbag harness and computer and be good to go. Minimally you need the dash and dash bar from 99 for a clean install. Leave the bag there it just won't be functional.
