the trans's where both the same but one had a cable to control throttle vale pressure and the other had a solenoid to control TVP so no it wont ****f into reverse and or nuetral my question is that are the valve bodies the same beside the TVP acuation system or are they totally different?

just from what you're saying it sounds like you got a replacement trans from a newer SC4 that uses the ECU to handle the shifting. Which would indicate that you might need the newer ecu.

I'm not 100% but it sounds like your trans is not compatible with your current ecu

so this is what i did i had to remove the valve body from the old trans and installed it on the new trans assuming there are the same besides the TVP systems. so i installed the old V/B on the new trans and now it wont shift into reverse and neutral and when i put the shift lever in either one of those to gears im still able to move foward and even in nuetral i can still move foward ive checked all the linkages and park/nuetral control switch and they are all in the correct location so im wondering if the valve bodies are diiferent? and if they are the same what can be my options for fixing this think

i was thinking it could be that but im using the old valve body on the new trans and would this still make a difference plus the shifting control is being control by cable in my car so thats why i had to swap valve bodies. so basically im F*** and have to get another trans that compatible

on the surface it seems like u simply installed the wrong trans.

Dont dig yourself in deeper by swapping ecu's and messing with other areas.

Just bite the bullet and swap it out again this time with the exact same tranny.

In short...no. your best bet is to find the exact same transmission that you need for your car and change that one out.

Where did you get the current replacement one?

I dont like to condone dishonesty or conning but junkyards in my area arent very customer friendly or courteous either so I dont feel bad really.

You should of told them there were some stripped bolts or the internals were messed up somehow, technically you can still get your money back but you have to be very firm and forward.

Belive me if you call them twenty times a day they will eventually give u your money back.

Stick to your guns because for all we know they gave you a defective tranny.
