dropping a 92 1uz into a 98 sc400
can you drop in a pre 1uz into a 98 sc400 direct drop in? if you have the wiring harness of the pre 1uz with it? direct plug and play?
because the vvti 1uz motor in it might be toast and the non vvti motors are a lot less expensive than the vvti ones. thx for any feedback

sucks dont it! i blew up mine because i was lazy and didnt take care of a oil leak and i bit me in the butt when i was driving down the highway and blew it up
but you sure are going to lose a good bit of power and gas mileage going to the pre vvti 1uz... i would spend the extra $$$ and get another vvti if i was you... i wish they swapped into the older year SC's easily

ihave a question that might solve ur problem... will the vvti heads work on the non vvti block... im sure if u engine is blown its just the bottom end.. depending on what u were doing to blow it.
and to answer ur question im pretty sure u need the ecu from the 92 also to make it work.

Now here is another question, the smog guy in Nevada is going to be looking for and OBDII hookup plug and there will not be one....So you have to wonder how he will respond.
