I'd have to agree as well. A 275, 35 series tire is a bit tall on a 20 inch wheel, O/D comes out to 27.6", right at two inches larger in diameter compared to the factory 25.6". To put thing in perspective, 275/35 is a common size for 18 inch wheels on the SC.
To fit closer to factory on a 20 inch wheel, you're looking at a 275/25 but the sidewall is way too short for my liking; O/D is 25.4". The in between tire will be a 275/30 that comes in at 26.5".

This is my car with my friend's set of 8,5x20 (245/35/20) and 10x20 (275/30/20) Auto Couture Caeser wheels. I don't remember the offsets, but there was no rubbing on my stock fenders and they cleared my Supra calipers. That's the good thing about quality wheels. They can be built to fit perfect!
The problem you will have, is the wheels rubbing up in the inside of your front fenders if your car is too low. I made the mistake of removing my fender liners without tucking the wire harness first and what you see below completely stranded my car. This could've been real expensive if it wasn't for Derek and Peter at Parris Engine Dynamics (shameless plug) and their wiring skills!
This is how it sits now. These are cheapy 20" wheels with whacked out offsets. I had to do spacers up front to clear the brakes and the wheels rubbed the fender lips, so I had my friend cut them off with a circle saw or something. The backs didn't rub, but I had him cut them anyway. Since your results may vary, I can't recommend this route, but it worked out great for me and I haven't had any issues with the cut fenders so far!
