it works fine for the door, unlocking, but it seems like the key is not big enough for the ignition / casing too big to fit in without the plastic blocking.

anyone have one of these that works??

i got 2 of them including cutting + keychains for about $50.

i'm thinking i may have to cut the plastic around my ignition to make this work?

Did you buy a "short" blade key? If so, those are made for 2001+ Lexus vehicles.

Plus, I have heard that the placement of the transponder on those flip-style keys are too far away from the receiver on the ignition which would not allow the car to start.

If I JAM the key in the ignition, it turns. If it was just a tiny bit longer it would be fine.

No problem with the transponder.

My key looks beat up. I like how the lock/unlock button is on the side of my key. is there anything extra that needs to be done to the unlock/lock. Where can I buy that flip key or get a replacement cover for my key I have now??

Did you take off the plastic ignition ring? Maybe that helps

yeah it works without the plastic ignition ring, however, i'd hate to have to do that just to use this key.

i'm working it out with the vendor to see if it can be fixed.
