wondering what is the best place to buy a 1j from. where did everyone buy theres? was there anything wrong and are u happy with it.

last time my buddy bought a 1j (cant remember the place) it had low compression on 2 cylinders missing ignitor and 2 bad coils and several other things wrong

try to buy it local or somewhere you can drive to so you can look at it and inspect it before you buy it... make them perform all the tests (leak down, turn the crank, comp test etc etc) if they are not willing to do those tests they dont want your business...

but anyway sorry i know nothing about illinois import car shops... just got to google or ask around town to people who have swaps

i got an identical setup like that. the ignitor wasn't included and is like 75 beans extra. but so far so good. i will swap oil pans here soon so i will see what condition the bottom end is in.

the auto tranny i got looks brand new though. as does the head.

Jdmsource.ca I have got 2 motor from them and a friend also got one all3 motors were awesome, one was a redtop sr for my 240 she held up fine I ran 24psi threw her on stock everything, motors on it third owner and only issue was the comp wheel fins folded in on owner 3.
