1998 Lexus SC300 - $10450 (Arvada, CO)

This is my '98 Lexus SC 300. It is triple black with factory chrome wheels and has every option Lexus had available for the SC300 in 1998. I purchased the car through cars.com in July of 2007. The seller was a dealership in Las Vegas, NV. At the time the car had 45,450 miles. I am the third owner of this beauty. Now, four years later it has 67,463 miles. The car has been so reliable that the onl y thing I've done to it in the last 21k miles is change the oil and filter every 3k miles and buy it a new set of tires. The tires are Kumho Ecstas 225/55R16 W rated with a 45,000 mile warranty. They have been driven just 18k miles.

The SC300 is powered by a 3.0 liter in-line 6 rated at 225 horse power matched to a 4-speed automatic transmisssion. Fuel economy is EPA rated at 24 highway and 19 city. I have averaged 23 mpg consistently over the last four years. Major options include: Lexus Premium Sound System AM/FM/cassette/CD with trunk installed 12 disc changer and 7 Bose speakers, power tilting and sliding moon roof, rear spoiler, chromed alloy wheels, all leather interior with wood trim, and every Lexus power assisted device available. It has heated seats, traction control and tilt and telescopic steering. This car originally listed new at $45,000.

I am the third owner of this car. It is still bright and shiney and I detail it regularly. It is garaged and has rarely been driven in foul weather. People are always surprised when they find out that it is 13 years old. This Lexus still looks fabulous. Everything works as it should, the title is clear, AutoCheck says 93 rating, and it's ready to go. I urge anyone interested to inspect the car at their convenience.

Part of me can see where your coming from but driving the price higher on these cars really wont help anyone in the long run, except those that already own one, next parts will go up in price and parts cars will be harder to find, i think they are priced quite fair right now considering everything.

A clean decent mileage sc still fetches good money so im not worried, its only the beat up junkers that sell for cheap in my area and even then they still go for a few grand.

but.. you have to pay tax even on private party purchases when you go to register it.
Its probably different from where you are but here if you buy from a dealer you have to pay 13% tax to the dealer on top of the price for the car.

Then you have to pay I think 5-6% of the cars bluebook value to the guvernment when you register so you get hit twice and on an expensive car it can hurt your pocket quite a bit.

+1 with the rip off. I got my 99SC cheaper than that with almost half the mileage.
