Default new Soarer?

I ran across this link in a thread tonight on the UK site:

http://www.quick-go.to/web/mycar/020...cle_29_01.html

The yellow Toyota - is it the next Soarer, Supra, SC, all 3?

The thread on the LSOC site is titled:

The 50 series Soarer supra

Interesting. Doesn't look like the pic I saw with the new supra. It is on the bottom. New soarer? hmmm. Too bad V6.

the UK thread mentions a 4.4L 400hp supercharged v8...now that would be fun - that yellow car has quite a few styling cues from the SC and the Supra, I like it - - and with 400hp -

Interesting... but it's those same ES300 headlights again from the supposed '04 IS300 pic posted earlier today.

Oh, I didn't read the UK thread. Just looked at the link and saw v6 only listed. Funny how the new GTR is v6 but at least 4wd. It is a sad new market for sports cars. Back to v8's and blowers.

yeah, I'm not surprised to see that stretched ES-style headlight look - the new LS has a hint of that too, and this one too for sure -

the car isnt too bad, but the choice in motors is poor, they are killing the modding factors.......

A nice 5.5L V8 with a twin turbo would be nice

Or maybe a 4.6L V6 TT.

That would be one nice SC550. A 6.5L TT L-Tuned SC would be a great limited model. Id buy it if I had the cash.

I love big engine. Its just something about them that makes me all happy. Kinda like a SL7.3 AMG. Oh man talk about a nice engine.

Toyota is planning two new cars. One a super car and one sporty car (perhaps to compete with the new 350Z from Nissan). Both cars will most likely be N/A so forget about it being tunable much. I hope Toyota wakes up and decides to make a nice under-rated turbo car like the past Supra.

Consider that Toyota and Nissan probably learned that your average wealthy American idiot didn't know how to take care of a turbocharged car. People like us are unfortunately in the minority, we're the wealthy few that have nice cars we take care of, and can be very fast. What I think should happen is that TRD here and Nismo should both open up to all dealers and offer pre-packaged performance equipment for the cars they sell. Turbo or supercharger kits mainly, with appropriate care instructions for both plus an owner's willingness to take care of the car, such as the warranty requiring that the oil be synthetic and changed no more than 4000 miles apart, etc. I think most people would be happy with company-backed performance parts, especially if they're warranted and legal.

well there are nismo 270 and 400r's they are "nismo modified" versions of their respective cars (silvia skyline) they are far from an idiot proof car. If you were to buy one in the mid 90's they were still under the same warrenty as a normal one but had a body kit, wheels, suspension, and engine mods.

Just to let you guys know the turbos arent out yet. In the future considering the Internal Combustion Engine stays popular or atleast somethign where turbos will help. We may see a whole new ballgame of turbos ;-)

Later,
Considering that eletric turbos sound interesting. I never said that turbos are out, just that Toyota and other companies are currently into the N/A trend.
