OLT, great analysis there about being on the fence.
Overall, looks like she made need just a little love to be the awesome beast we know she's capable of. I'm interested in the stock rims, though. Let me know if you want to get rid of them.

i just want to clean it up some. have the bumpers repainted, replace ripped driver seat, full tune up and have the exhaust fixed since it rattles.. as far as mods just rims and a headunit which i already have .. oh and a 97+ spoiler and the 98+ shifter.. thats about it.
im in jersey city.
more to come.. its been raining on and off for like a week now so i still didnt get a chance to really wash my car yet
what am i missing that the 98 has? i know about the shifter. does the 98 have the 3 spoke steering wheel or did those start in 99? but im happy with the upgraded dash though. i was extra excited the day i bought my 94 because all of the dash lights were working and none of needles worked on my 92. i had the car(my 94) maybe a 2 weeks, and then half the dash crapped out on me lol im hoping that doesnt happend to me again this time
im not too worried about finding the window regulator or any parts. there are plenty of sc's in the junk yards around here. $35 is a really good deal though. i doubt i will find one that cheap. aliga has one for $80 shipped which seems reasonable
i wish i had them. i dont know why the previous owner got rid of the 97+ factories for 92-94 chrome factories

Enjoy it! I have always ignored the 97's because they don't get all the goodies of the 98 (it's kind of a teaser year), but you do at least get the newer style 98+ body and if you like them, the cathode dash (I think they look too greyish because the cathodes are too low powered). The best news though about having a 97 is that when you're sitting on the fence neither side (-96><98+) can hate on you.

Well, what matters is that she has potential. I'm sure you'll do great by her, and she's found a good home.
That's all us gearheads can ask for- kind of like adopting a pet. We give it love and wish it the best when she leaves; had to watch some dumbglass teenage girl wrap my old A4 around a tree, and then complain to daddy about it.
Grrr...
