Default paddle shifter

A friend told me that there are universal paddle shifter kits on the market for auto transmissions. Anybody seen or heard on one hooked up in an sc400? This would be a cool mod to do and give it a sportier attitude on the interior in my opinion

YES i used the search feature and no hits for an sc400.

I've never seen this before on an SC. My IS300 steering wheel has shift buttons on it, but they don't work in the SC. That's the closest thing I've ever seen for the SC400 and SC300.

Yea, 2.5tsoarer had a whole mess of stuff done to his car.

Hosted pics are long gone. Cause he was removed long ago. Just search his name and posts. There is a ton of stuff about his build.

I see it being posssible in the kouki SC's. GS' have paddle shifting and they are pretty much the same car. As far as a universal kit, I would have to say Nah! Easier said then done.

Default E-Shift, not Paddle-Shift

I have not seen paddle shift on the coupe either. I have added e-shift to my SC400 twin turbo V8 project. I have not talked much about it as the project has been long in completing...but, the overheating challenges I have been facing are about to be over...At least I believe so. I just received in the mail, my radiator with custom made electric fan shroud and SPAL's 14" electronic fans. I will install this today.

Back to e-shift...I found a GS three spoke steering wheel with e-shift buttons, and I wired this into my car. The e-shift and the transmission are being controlled by PCS, a stand alone transmission ECU.the on/off switch is the stock Power/ECT Lexus switch. When I slect power mode, the transmission goes into manual. Then I can shift the trans like a paddle shifter.when the switch is in ECT, I am in auto mode, and I simply cruie around. You guys will see it all working in the reveal video that is coming up as soon as I complete everything.

Is swapping over to the GS three spoke steering wheel with e-shift buttons a cheaper alternative to converting a stock SC400 to a manual transmission ?

Just adding a wheel with e-shift will NOT make your trans shift. There is more to it than that!
