Default Window motor, where to get the best deal?

Hi everyone,

I just bought an SC400 and I am seriously loving it, however it is not perfect.

The PO told me the driver side window switch is broken. I diagnosed the problem and it turns out that the motor is actually the culprit which he confirmed it works. unfortunately no junkyards around here have them and online the best price I found was around 100 dollars.

Also I found some aftermarket motors that claimed they will work with a lexus but from the pictures it did not look like it. Any suggestions?

I don't mean to sound cheap but I do have better things to pay for as a college student. Thanks

you own a lexus now, you cant be cheap with some components. a universal motor? i would stay away. but instead of asking a question for someone to do the work for u why dont u continue your search, craigslist, dealer, looking deeper into junkyards.. dont mean to sound like a douche but we cant hold your hand thru the process.

you said driver side? ill check the local junk yard where i got mine if they have one for the driver side (i got a passenger side motor). what year is it? im not sure if they will work with any year. i guarantee ill be cheaper than the $100 one too. there are 2 sc's at my junk yard and i cant remember if the driver side motors are still there. ill take a look tomorrow though if i can. unfortunately i will not be able to confirm if it works or not while im there. i gambled with mine and it worked so i got lucky.

Yes driver side and it is for a 1994. If you find one I'd really appreciate and will definitely pay you on top for taking the time and finding it.

If he can't get one and you need a brand new one, you could try Sewell Lexus. They offer a Club Lexus member discount. They've got good prices, but I don't know how much the window motors are at the moment.

Thanks for the help guys, JDMJOE please don't bother looking I got tired of looking around for a cheap part..you know I'm not used owning a nicer car so I have my cheap habits haha I still think I got a decent deal. I bought a motor and reg for 80 dollars...

so far I have done all the maintenance

100 dollar oil change, amsoil synthetic
flushed the cooling system
flushed the transmission

up next is the differential and I am gonna have the fuel system cleaned..

and to the ahole above stop making dumbass comments about people you don't know. I'm not a tire kicker and I have owned more cars than you probably (12 cars) which means I have had my share of experience buying parts, I try to shop smart. As you can hopefully use common sense and see that an average oil change costs more like 30 dollars, but a stupid window motor is no where as valuable as a lexus engine so I am not willing to pay 200 dollars to replace it just because it says Lexus on it.
