Question for the SC members
This is so far just a thought, but I am really debating whether or not to sell my newly painted (with PPG's new water based system and about 4 coats of there clear) 1993 SC300. I'm curious to find out what you guys think would be a fair price for my mildly fixed up SC.
Car is in great condition factory 5 speed. Recently painted and was mainly garage kept during my ownership. Mileage is in or around 170,000 miles. Very well maintained and hardly driven.
Highlights of the car(as far as I can recall):
Genuine AutoCouture kit w/fog lights
Universal Air suspension
Pioneer Navigation unit
Factory 5-speed transmission
Works Bell Quick release
Nardi steering wheel
19" forged alloy wheels
What would you guys think that selling it for $8,000-$8,500, would it be fair? This car has a clean record and is not totaled. Just so I don't get warned, this is not an AD just a curious question wanting the feedback on whether or not I am correct in charging this amount from the knowledgeable members of this forum.
And I know we all like photos (if you guys haven't seen my car on this forum):

I don't know anyone that would pay $8,000.00 for a non turbo repainted 1993 6 cyl.
As enthusiasts we spend way too much on our cars because we love them, and when you sell to enthusiasts you get a better return on your money but I've never seen a non turbo '93 that's been repainted bring above $5k that didn't have insane money tied into it above just a body kit, wheels, etc....
Would "I" buy something like that? Maybe, because I am an enthusiast and I see value in it, but I'd be searching for decent condition turbo cars first which makes it much less likely you'll sell it cause those get bought first. Most people sell the mods, then the car.
PS- PURDY car.

I'd say in a normal economy, go for broke. But I've bought project cars before, and they've never turned out well (just bad luck, I guess). My mechanic once told me that one man's project car was another's nightmare.
Very pretty, btw.

Maybe 5k or so, not to insult anyone, but the demand for these right now is terrible. Just be patient and find the right person at your price. That's what i would do, if you wanted to sell it
