tail lights bulb replacement?
My rear tail lights are dim, wondering if anybody have changed to one of PIAA or other brand's bulbs?
what type of bulbs are those? 1156?
does it make brighter if you change with stock one?
or has anyone cleaned inside the taillights before??

Ya the big sockets all have 1156 bulbs in them and the little sockets hold wedge bulbs. I would image that PIAA's would be brighter than stock but I dont know. I cleared out my tail lights and with normal bulbs the light is extremly bright. When I had my tail lights opened I cleaned them. You can probably try the dish washing soap then jet dry method that someone posted. It worked pretty good on my headlights. Do a search for jet dry or something and you should be able to find it. It was a pretty recent thread so it should be on the first 5 to 10 pages. If you get PIAA plasma white bulbs or something along the line of that it should make your tail lights MUCH brighter. The stock bulbs are pretty dim and yellowish.

you're in luck! i just removed my tails and here are the specs.
the turn signals and reverse lights are 1156, one of the brakes is 1156 and the other is 1157. this is because when you turn on your parking lights, one stays on and when you step on the brakes, it gets brighter. so everything is 1156, except for one , which is 1157

quick question, how to access the bulbs? Do I have to take out whole rear combination light unit? I thought you can easily access from inside the trunk...
