Glad you are okay buddy! A sc can be replaced! Wish you a speedy recovery!
Lex, could you post some pictures of sc's that have been in headons? I know the sc is a really tough car!

Hope you heal soon buddy. Sorry to hear about your accident. Must be traumatizing for your wife as well.
I'll play the devil;s advocate on sc's built as tanks. I got rear ended by a Nissan Pathfinder with those bars in the front. Boy did it do some serious damages. My bumper was smashed in, both tailights cracked, trunk smashed in the middle and lifted a good 5-6 inch and my passenger rear quater panel (i think thats what you call it where the bumper connects to the rear body) was bented as well. Damages was $ 3.5K.

That last one is a very good example of how the impact has been managed, it's gone head-on into a pole or something at a fair speed, the hit is off-centre so the impact is not spread across the whole front end and has been absorbed by the one front corner.
You can see the bulkhead and screen area is still in shape so the impact has not intruded into the cabin, possibly a little in the footwell but not enough to cause injury, would'nt surprise me if the pass door still opens.
I have crashed plenty of cars, each time I buy one with a longer bonnet - more crumple zone, less pain. If I am going to be in an accident at speed, I want it to be in my Soarer.

I hope you're okay man. I wish you a quick recovery.
While you're at the ins. place and taking pics, can you snap a pic of that custom sub box for me? Also, if you have a tan/beige interior and a working inside rearview mirror, grab it for me and I'll pay you for it.
Thanks man and good luck
Tim

Remember that the van driver was working at the time. Go after his business for damages. They should give you something extra since they would want to avoid a huge lawsuit. Expect another $5k if you werent hurt or at least $20k if you were. Time to get a turbo SC huh?
