lex400sc, the PIAA extreme white 168 is coming in the mail. I'll post the pix shortly...
I was going to try the ion crystals next. However, I might be happy enuff w/ just removing the shroud that I may not buy them after all. With hellasboy's recommendation, I may just wait till one of the fogs go out b4 gettin 'em.

I'm buying Narva 85w H3s in yellowish-amber color. They are supposedly the most colorful H3 bulbs with the best output. I'll post pics when they get here. I'm also toying with the idea of 4-LED cluster wedge bulb conversions for the 168/194...

lex400sc,
i do not think it s wise to put a 85w bulb. It may melt the reflector and/or lens just, my 0.02. As for the 4 wedge bulb unless, you bore the hole bigger. The bulb will not fit in if, you did not already know this. Also, the 4 wedge bulb even if it is led may take more power than what it can give even, if you do fabricate something. i have leds in my city/parking light socket. It is not all that bright and I am pretty sure it is just like the PIAAs Extreme White. If you look straight on then, it looks okay but, when arming the car. It is noticeably darker than, a regular 168 incadescent bulb.

P = VI
BlackSC, I understand the danger with overrating the power, especially in an all plastic foglight assembly. So my plan is to splice inline a 4.5-ohm resistor on the positive or negative wire in the H3 circuit. This will effectively drop the power from 85w to ~55w regardless of the bulb I use.
