price check on 97 sc300
hey guys, so my mother has a 97 5 speed hardtop with the 1 year 97 green (cant remember the name) Tan interior also in great condition.
My mother called me the other day letting me know she wanted to sell it, mind you she is the FIRST owner since brand new and has never let anyone touch this but a head mechanic at lexus. ALL maintainence has been done and i know the car is in immaculate condition in EVERY way.
The car has been repainted 3 times by lexus due to my mother throwing a fit when the pillars faded so the paint is great.
Im gonna snap some pics for you guys soon but going on the assumption that the whole car is a 9/10 for a 97 5 speed hardtop with the 1 year green.
how much would you pay? or say its worth? its got 120kish on it.
just wanna see some ideas cause obviously kelly bluebook isnt gonna be a good reference for how much this car is worth because it doesnt consider the rarity.

~ Green is not a popular color
~ Especially on tan interior
~ 97 had the old driveline and *****-matic, not as popular as 98+
~ 120k is about the only plus here as it's fairly low miles on an SC
~ and 5 speed is a plus
1 owner and "still has window sticker" on this particular car means nothing to most on CL, would do better as a certified pre-owned lexus on a lexus lot. This is not the clientele for a green non VVTI 300 at the top of it's price range.

its not an auto..... its a 5 speed
its a hardtop.....
120k and 1 owner who had it maintained by the head mechanic at a bay area lexus dealership.
how did you read all of that and come to the conclusion that its an auto????
also im not trying to sell it here... i wouldnt sell this car to anyone unless it was a ridiculous amount. its a meticulously maintained 97 5 speed hardtop sc300 in a 1 year only color.... doesnt get too much rarer than that in the sc world
so actually the only negative is the tan interior, but i can deal with it.

no worries , Im just trying to get some ideas of what this thing is worth. Doing 20 things at once so my responses arent prompt.
i figure if what 120 97 5 speeds were made? how many hardtop 97 5 speeds were made in that green? i remember seeing a chart as far as production numbers went but cant remember where.
and im sure if i were willing to sell it here it would go in a heartbeat. the thing is 9.5/10 for sure

what do you mean by hardtop? like no sunroof or that its not a convertible? because there arent any convertible first gen SC's. and yeah the fact that its green will hurt your sale since most people want white or black with the occasional red. but green is generally undesired. also it depends on where you live for your price. where i live it would be worth around 10 but like other people have said 6-7 is probably dependent on where they live.

But if i was selling it i doubt anyone in the market for a 97 5 speed sc is gonna be picky about the color.... considering the amount in existence i doubt there is much of a choice.

wait.... keep the 5speed stock and mod the auto???? i think you got that backwards. a 97+ 5 speed without sunroof is like the best possible scenario for a performance SC.

u wont get 10 k for it even considering the rarity.
also the car being painted 3 times isnt really a good thing either, wont add value to the car might actually take away from it.
120k is sort of low for an sc but to the average buyer out there they wont think it is very low.
u say u wouldnt sell it here im wondering why? here is where people will actually appreciate the 97 5 spd and may pay a premium,,,,in a normal setting no one will care about the rarity really.
