6-speed on SC400
My buddy who has a 93 Supra TT told me that it would be relatively easy to install a supra 6-speed tranny into my car. Is he on drugs or is this doable? if it is doable what other than the tranny do I need to make this swap?
tranny
clutch pedal
bellhousing?
gearbox
what else?

Hello -
This has been discussed MANY a time. The search function will probably yield better results than waiting for an answer.
I guess it's most probable to work on a stock SC300 5-speed because the wiring on a 400 or autoamtic 300 is different and requires ECU modification.

Hello All,
Peter Scott <pgscott@bigpond.com> has a 1UZFE with a Supra 6 Speed. He has an adapter for the 1UZ. Email him. As far as cluth and other accessories. I would think the SC300 5 speed would provide a lot of assemblies.

i found bellhousing for both supra N/A 5-speed and supra TT 6-speed tranny to bolt on to 1UZ-fe. also found the fork, pressure plate and shiftter + cable.
just wondering what else I needed to get or modify to get it to work.

Do a search someone one posted a complete list, and it was cheaper to buy a salvaged SC300 5-speed and use it as a parts car - Like I said, the conversion runs in the thousands (plural)if you buy all new parts. Get a salvaged car from the auction, and you get a spare engine too, then sell off the remaining parts and you can make back alot of what you spent.

Why would you ever want to put a Supra gearbox in your car when they are SO expensive?
If you have to screw around with the bellhousing/adaptors/driveshaft,use a T-56 instead, they're about half the price of a Getrag for a Toyota.I know where one is for a grand, just don't have the $ right now for that.
The gearing would probably be better anyways.
I pretty much have it figured, except for the speedo, haven't even looked at that one.
