Default UZZ40 Soarer Steering Wheel Install in a 95 SC400

Just got this in the mail recently

http://www.flickr.com/photos/13997751@N00/6347294189/

put the wheel in yesterday. Cruise control worls great and it connects perfectly (i turned light on for reference)

Same with the airbag.

HOWEVER!
Mine did not come with an actuator, so I braved the ***** to take the old one off my old steering wheel (dont do this at home!)
ItDOES NOT fit (too big) you need the actuator from a 3 spoke wheel. Pics are below. Any questions feel free to ask.

So as of right now the airbag light is on until i put in a new actuator. The seller didnt have any backside pics of the airbag (hindsight 20/20)

REVIEW

Night and Day. The old wheel was way to bulky and this grips my hands alot better. Feels more responsive, I can make turns quicker and alot easier.

Worth Every Penny! Cost me around 650 when all said and done. Not as bad as the OEM Carbon Fiber one in the Supra (which was 1000 bucks)

The way I see it, a steering wheel is something you make contact with everytime you drive, its an integral part of that driver-machine relationship.

Still working on the Soarer Radio...biggest PITA and Im about to give up...lol

Just got the Work Euroline N's in. (they need to be refinished)
Still waiting on my Hipermax LS coils to come in the mail

Future Mods after that are a gated shifter and updated 99 seats

Man, I've been waiting to have mine connected correctly for 6+ months. I have a RX 3 spoke airbag with a single stage detonator, and I have the carson part number 09082-00760...but my bag didn't come with the correct wire that comes directly off of the back of my single stage bag. So, I'm sort of in the same boat as you. Where are you going to get a replacement actuator from? Please keep me in the loop as my inspection is coming up in March and I would like a functional steering wheel.

If you swap the airbag actuator out of a 98 Supra or Rav4 it will work. I have a spare so Im gonna try it this weekend. Im more hands on than anything else...we'll see!

Any updates on wiring this up correctly? I'm about to give up and just buy another RX300 bag on ebay.

And...not that this is a good idea, but can the airbag light be removed from the back of the instrument cluster? I'm just thinking of a worse case scenario before my next inspection. 2001-2003 three spoke single stage airbags are $300+ dollars. My sister has a ford focus with an airbag light and we removed the cluster to see if the bulb could be removed. Ford actually puts a safety bracket on top of the SRS and airbag lights so you can't remove them!
