I was browsing craigslist when I was 17 and saw Lexus+V8. I had to have it. That was last year. (After Ford and GM it seemed so much nicer) It was my 3rd car.

I had just sold my Mazda, and needed a car. My budget was no more then $4,500 and I wanted a car that would give me the biggest bang for the buck. So i browsed a bunch of sites, and one day I was watching a video from EVO magazine UK and they had a challenge for the fastest vehicle under £4,000, and the winner was the Toyota Soarer.

Thanks to the internet and Gran Turismo, I knew the USDM equivalent was the Lexus SC, so right away I searched Craigslist and found a 1996 SC400 with just over 160k on the clock advertised for $4500. The next day my dad and I went to check it out, and I fell in love. This was back in March of 2008, and I still own and love the car to death today. It was the first car that I decided to customize, and once I learned about the huge love support on the forums, there was no turning back. On Halloween of 2012 I decided to purchase another Lexus SC, this time a 97 factory manual SC300, with the goal of boosting it. As of today, I have over $17k invested in that car, and its not done just yet

Always a fan of Japanese rwd cars. Last year on the Mayan end date I totaled my custom built rx7 that I just spent two years building.
On Xmas Eve I was desperate looking for a car and came across this gem in the back of a used car lot. Mentioned it was nice to the dealer and poof it's mine. It sat at the dealer for a few years and barely survived sandy (in a flood zone) the water never got up to the door by luck I guess.
Car had been nothing but trouble since, however my love has increased as with each fix it gets closer to what I like. I love the lil v8 rumble when I'm rolling down my street (15mph). Can't wait to do a 5speed swap and susp upgrades now that my electrical issues are gone

I never knew about the Lexus SCs until the summer of 2013. While I was looking for a car to buy my co-worker showed me a craigslist ad for a black SC300 (2benvd's car). He explained what the car was about. Two months later I bought it. It's a fun, special car. Always like driving it.

Gran Turismo 1 on the first Playstation :P Couldn't quite understand why they only had the 3.0 turbo and not the v8 though .....

Fell IN LOVE with the SC when a co-worker's boyfriend gave me a ride home in his '94 sc300 ......
sex on wheels by definition

Owned a lot of Holden (GM) v8's ... will never own one again :P

A guy I used to work with had a clean genuine 93 Toyota Soarer, I first saw it I'm like what kind of USDM car it that he said "a SC300 but they come with the poor excuse for a 2JZ." Lol, now I have one but the 400. I LOVE IT, but its too slow, twin turbo to come!!!

I had been researching RWD imports sports cars for a friend this past spring when I discovered the SC's. I found him a red widebody, turbo, Starion-5speed with 44k for 5 grand and he loves it. Nice car but I wanted something more substantial. I liked the SC430 but couldn't afford one which led me to the original SC. I never seen a SC3 or 4 until I bought my R-Red 55k 96 SC4 off ebay sight unseen last summer. I got lucky as it was pristine, always garaged, with original paint, 1 family owned, perfect leather, great rubber everywhere and every thing works except cd player. I paid twice what many of you have but; carefree motoring comes at a price. Came with original 60k sticker, all books, original cover and original spare tire. No oil leaks, squeaks or vibrations. I put over 7000 miles on it now and cannot wait till spring to drive it again. So far I put on OEM front lip & OEM mudflaps, Aston Martin wheels and rear stainless brake lines. Next is lowering, LS400 BB kit, stainless front lines, along with drilled rotors all around. I really appreciate this forum and understand all the love you guys show these great cars.

I first came aware of the SC's on craigslist looking for a $5,000 and under car to fit my budget. Found a SC400 someone was asking too much for what had been done to it (teen had pretty much ruined it) but about a year later after I had sold my Toyota Celica I went looking again, found an SC400 for around 1,500 and bought it now im in the process of getting it back to stock...well as much as possible.

the game TOKYO XTREME RACER ZERO. two of the boss racers had soarers that were super fast and crazy looking! (one of the bosses was a uzz30 with the abflug body kit!) that was probably the first time i had ever saw an sc.

then when i was in middle school some guy in my neighborhood would always get new cars and modify them like every couple months. eventually i saw that he got a white sc (probably sc300), and i thought to myself, "man, those are pretty bad a$$!" it had a carbon hood and some gold center vsxx looking wheels. after that i kind of forgot about them though...

then about a year ago i started looking into my first car. i was mainly looking into foxbody mustangs and 3rd and 4th gen f-bodies. after months of no luck with those, i started expanding my horizons. for some reason i got hooked on ls400s. i thought they were cool looking and thought it was cool that they had v8's (1uz's). infact, i almost bought a '91 ls400 with factory bbs's, but didnt because the dealer said it failed inspections. after that, i was still hooked on that lexus v8! so i kept looking for ls400s and also started looking into SC's. i ended up finding my '93 silver spruce sc400 with 83k miles on it 2 weeks later and jumped on it as fast as i could! ive had it for almost a year and i love it. i love the way it looks and the fact that its got that 1uz! i recently had an exhaust made for it and it sounds so awesome! no regrets, and i plan on keeping it forever!
