Hmm, I was always under the impression the Eibach Pro Kit drops 1.5 ?

I'm going the ProKit route with Tokico's. Although I nee to get 18's and mite as well do all of them at once.

I just found out that the Supra NA rear struts are different from the SC400 rear struts, which puts the rear end higher than stock with the Eibach Supra NA Prokits unless I buy Supra rear struts. So now I have to buy Supra struts. Now I have two selections, Supra NA struts and Supra TT struts. They somehow differ because the Supra TT struts are cheaper in price. Question is what is the difference between Supra NA and Supra TT struts? Anyone know?

Ok, I just checked the Eibach website and they list the NA to be 1.3" drop in the front and the TT to be 1.2" in the front. I think the 1.5" drop is for Intrax springs, which are crap from what i've heard.

Looks like I need to remove the sticker off my new card...

I was quoted $800 labor to install the springs and the shocks. Dunno for the springs alone.

The shop is:

Michael & Co.
351 Lincoln Ave (between San Carlos and Auzerais, next to Speed Merchant)
San Jose CA 95126
(408) 286-2988

BAR # AD131557
EPA ID# : CAD983644212

They are ValueStar Certified, ASE and I-CAR Certified. They specialize in engine rebuilds and collision repair. But they do basically everything, including radiator work.

Open 7:30am-6:00pm, M-F

They have a customer courtesy shuttle, and also can make arrangements for after-hours drop-offs or pick-ups.

Nope. It's 1.0". I think that the Sportlines might be 1.5. Not sure. Edit: btw, I think my car now sits with the bottom edge lining up straight with the ground. I'll double check when I go out today. Edit again: No, the rear sits veeerrrryyy slightly higher than the front

I did have new tires put on when I had the work done. The new ones are Dunlop SP Sport A2. Previous tires were Firestone Affinity Touring, worn almost bald.

Size is 225/60-15, which fit on the factory wheels.

RalAegidius,

800 dollars for the labor only?
That's INSANE.
I got all my springs and shocks installed for 250 dollars.

Already had this conversation over on Ricecop. Basically, it's because I'm in San Jose California, and $100/hr. labor is a normal price for good shops here.

Yes, I know it seems ridiculous, and yes I know some of you are going to insist that I got ripped off, but I didn't. Trust me. That's just how it is here. In fact, I got a good deal on the work they did on my car.

DiabloAutosports in Livermore (30 miles from San Jose) will do springs and shocks for $175. $70/hour labor times 2.5 hours. There's another shop in San Ramon that charges $60/hour labor, but the name escapes me. Of course I have access to a hydrolic lift of my own so I will most likely install them with help from pcmw .

Ral,

Don't feel bad. The shop book shows 8 hours to swap the spring/struts in our cars. The shop just did the simple 8hoursX100hr=800

The reality is that any decent shop mechanic works at 2x speed of shop book. My friend at Cadillac in the bay books out 16 hours of shop time in only 6 hours a day. Rarely a return problem or mistake. They give that kinda slop in the shop book for idiots that break things while they wrench on your car.

Lex400sc,

I will do it for only half that!!!! $400 WOOOOOT. If I install 14 sets I get a FREE TURBO.... WOW.

I get mines done for $75. Springs and shocks. They shouldn't charge you that much for the shocks install if you get the springs installed. All they have to do is install your new springs with the new shocks instead of the oem ones. It would pretty much be stupid to pay to have the springs installed and to pay for shocks installed.

If they charge you regular price for the shocks install as well, just have them install the springs first. Drive out, go around the corner, come back and tell them you want to shocks installed. If you are going to pay twice for one installation, you might as well make them work for it.

It should take no more than 2 hours for a shop that knows what they are doing. Also I have never paid the actual Labor charge per hour thing. I once had a shop spend 4 hours straight on my car. I was sitting there reading and watching them from 10am to 2pm. Charged me $50. Go to a Motorsport or something. They usually don't charge by the hour. Plus they should be very experienced in lowering cars and etc....

If you are too lazy and from So Cal, drop your car off to me and give me $250 .. I will be glad to have your car lowered. LoL!

Yeah, that was just their estimate. I don't think I actually paid that much. *goes and gets receipt*

They only actually charged me $595 for the work.
