Default Hello from Duluth....

Well, I finally got my SC400 I've always wanted. I was browsing craigslist the other day looking at Supras, 300zx's,Mr2s, anything from the Japanese musclecar era. Then I came across this beautiful 1994 SC400 w 160k. The guy wanted $3000 because of a dent in the door. (about the size of a banana) I offered him $2000 cash and he took it. It has the typical problems, ripped leather, burnt dash bulbs, Climate control display is black. AC doesn't work. But, it runs like a top, shifts smooth. Has new brakes and struts. No weird noises or anything. It's a solid car. And it has new paint and shines really well. Nice Konig wheels. Tires are pretty done though. Even with the issues this car has, I still think I made out pretty well on the price. Being the car is from Minnesota I was expecting some sort of rust issues on the car, but it is completely rust free from the frame up. Anyways, I joined as I'm sure I'll need support at some point. For now my goals are to get the lights working, AC working, and fix the dent. Cheers everyone!

Sup CL, My name is Travis, I'm comin from the DSM world, so yeah, this is a promotion.

Monday, i picked up a '92 champagne gold SC300 for $1000 even. Drove it about 60 miles (heading home), and all of a sudden my temp needle shoots straight up and the check engine light comes on and the car starts to stutter. Thinking that I just overheated and seized/damaged piston rings, warped head or block, etc, I pull over immediately and lifted the hood. Lol of course the hood shocks no longer work, and as I am leaning into the engine bay to try and find what caused it to overheat, the hoods comes slamming down onto my head. Tough Love lol Anyways I pulled off the radiator cap, poured a ton of water in to see if i can hear where the hose blew off, and sure enough, about 2 minutes and a gallon of water later, i hear a small waterfall sound coming from underneath the car. I look underneath, and water is just flowing from somewhere on the right side of the engine underneath the intake mani...

So i got it towed home on a flat bed tow truck, and she sitting in my garage with 90% of the manifold off, i just gotta get that last part that is bolted to the engine. I'm hoping to find a coolant hose blown off, we will see.. But anyways, it feels good to be on a forum full of info.

And don't worry, i will use the search bar lol

Hey all, I recently picked up a black 1992 sc300 5 speed.

It's in amazing condition and bone stock, I really like to thank these forums for swaying me into getting an sc rather than anything else. I have some big plans for this car and I can't wait to share them with everyone.

thanks Austin

Default Lexus SC400

Supp' C.L. Club members .

Xdoubts I Am, live in South Central Los Angles. New to the the whole Lexus world , but have had friends that had Sc's before , and truelly ever since I had always want my own , and now I Do! hahha .

I was looking through craigs and saw it going for a desent price gave a call , made an appointment to go see it at Seal Beach. When I did go see it , I was just in plain love with this beauty of a car , it had the Alpine cellphone in side I was pretty amazed to find it there in the first place , one word, (CLASSY) hahha. then guy told me it belonged to his older aged friend 72 year old "buddy," he told me that the guy bought the car in 1992, when it came out he has been the only owner , and didnt really even drive it , he even had the original 4 keys for it .

After hearing all the good we got to the problems, has a small exhaust leak(not bad),(drivers window ) wont go all the way up , passangers window doesnt work , rear seats are teare from sun , and a few other fixable things or reaplacable .

I gave it a late wash & cleaned it out today here are some crappy pictures due to the sun hitting the camera , it was a hot day so waited till evening time .

Sorry, if messed up on some spelling , short on time. Hope you guys enjoy the pictures

Cool New Lexus Lover

Hi, i am ben, and i have just discovered a new religion, lexomy, hehe. i recently purchased my 1992 lexus sc400 and immediately fell in love with it. unfortunetlynow, i want to put all of my money into it. i started off fixing the minor problems that went out the first few weeks of owning the car. the first was the electris steering wheel adjuster, thanks to a members post on the site, it was not a problem, in fact it worked easier using paint can openers to pry the gear out, came out no problem. next, the window failed me, wouldn't roll back up one day, a day it stormed so i tried to find a replacement part, tooooo expensive, would have to replace the entire unit. so after 8 hours and reading tons of forums online, i got it fixed and back together. the first few ideas i read were quite idiotic and didn't work at all, i ended up just using my own ideas, and it works great now but then my 12 cd changer went out that really pissed me off, one of the best features of the car, so i plan to replace that later while working on my long term project. when i got some money, i started to take off on it, starting with the basics, a tune up. only costed $1000 put in some nology hotwires, very expensive, and some pulstar pulse plugs, also not cheap. i also replaced the ignition coils and distributor caps and rotors. i was hoping to keep the nice looking covers on the top of the engine, but the new wires were way too large, and i ended up leaving them off. but it was work it, they doubled the power i got for the same gas mileage but thats because everything in the car was still stock from the factory, all melted and cracked out, almost suprising the car ran at all. and just this morning, i installed a voltage stabalizer, the hyper hot inazma by sans. almost didn't like it, i cant even hear my engine any more but it greatly improved my throttle response. i had also added an extension pack of 5 grounding wires that i used to super ground the engine. that's as far as i am right now, but have tons of plans for in the future, tooooo many. my next project is to work on the exhaust system, too quiet, if anyone has any suggestions please tell, great to be here

Hey everyone! My name is Wes and I picked up my '99 SC 300 this past Saturday. It is Pearl White, and in pretty good shape. I have huge plans for the car, but I don't want to make any sort of drastic power changes yet, my wife will actually ride in this car (not my 350Z...haha). Anyways, I am looking to improve mileage and lighten the car up with a carbon hood, doors, and trunk, as well as some lightweight wheels. First on the mods list is some stainless brake lines and some high performance pads.

Anybody in the NC - Charlotte/Lake Norman area?
