1992 (Soarer)Sc400
Already this forum has provided me with soo many answers. Especially appreciate the aux-in threads, as I intend to keep the interior original And the wheel size/offset guide - helped me alot picking the 18's I put on.
Gonna be a work in progress for the next couple of years (soo much to do, soo little money).
Planned enhancements :
Coilovers/TT brakes
600hp fresh engine with 5 speed (sourced and saving hard)
Torsen diff
.... find a front lip
Clear the bumper indicators
It is great to have a forum like this filled with knowledge - gives me the confidence to try at home what would normally cost me an arm and a leg for someone else to do

I'm Kelvin. From Ohio. Been lurking around reading a lot and decided to introduce myself. I have a 94 SC300 5spd with an interesting story. It is a one owner car with 150K. It is a salvage titled car, given to me by a family friend. Very minor accident. I put it back together and have it back on the road now. Im into it for the cost of a bumper, fender, headlight, and hood. $500.
It has an impeccable service history all done at the dealership. New OEM clutch a week before the accident. I've always wanted to own an SC, but ended up buying a IS recently and have been surprisingly disappointed. Well I guess the Universe has a way of working itself out.
It's replacing my IS which will probably get sold to a friend who wants to do an LS swap. My plans for the SC are simple:
Suspension-PBM or Stance
Wheels-2.2.1's most likely.
Seats-That is the one thing I do love about my IS.
1JZ-Factory JDM motor so, to me, it belongs in here. Being an FJ40 owner as well, I have come to love all things Toyota.

Just bought my SC400 on Saturday. I'm new to the Lexus/Toyota scene (unless you count my first car 91 4cyl Camry). I currently live in Delaware (don't think I've seen a single SC in the state. Bought the car while on leave in FL and will be driving it to DE on the 16th.
My previous cars include 1991 Camry, 1996 Integra, 1991 300ZX TT, 1995 240SX, 1990 Miata (don't know why I got this one), and now 1991 Mustang 5.0 (project), and 1995 SC400 (first automatic i've owned).
The car has 180K, stuffed with Dynamat, and a viper alarm system. The interior is in fairly good condition from what I've seen on other SC (all black interior).
Only issues having with the car is button lights aren't working, have to smack the dash for needles to wake up, memory seat buttons aren't working, and very slight hesitation on light throttle take off (from what I've read, all common except for the memory seat).
Having fun with the car, just need to turn this in to a manual soon.

Hello from Stingray1 - 1999 SC400
Hello, I'm Stingray 1. I've never posted anyting or replied to any threads, so this is pretty new to me. However, this site was very helpful when researching a custom exhaust and putting in new stereo speakers. I have a 1999 SC400, 149,000 miles, custom Magaflow high-flow exhaust, Tokico shocks, custom 18" light-weight wheels, and K&N air filter. It's been a great car and I've kept very good car of it. I bought it back in 1999 with only 5,000 miles on it. People at work give me a hard time for driving the same car for so long and call it an antique....but I still love this car. I'll be posting a picture soon. Any suggestions on using the forum?

Been lookin for a while ,but now...
Hi all, I'm Al. I've been back and forth looking on the forum but now I'm looking to be a member of the club. After being rear ended in my 91 Civic si, I've been given a new lease on Lexus life. I'm looking to do a gs or sc...(Leaning towards the SC400) I've looked at a few and narrowed my choice to 3. One is a local seller who has pretty much done everything I would have as far as upgrades ie..1993 sc400...new paint, reupholstered interior, lowered on eibach springs, 19 inch wheels, alarm w/ remote start, tanabe exhaust tips, tinted. The second I just saw posted by a member here...1995 sc400 very low miles, mint interior, lowered on coilovers, 18 inch wheels, exterior is great, tint, rear window spoiler(price is a little more than I wanted , but the car looks damn good). The third is a car that a friend is having brought down to be seen physically...1998 sc 400...It has very low mile( maybe 100k or less), have not seen interior yet, Have been told it is in good shape. I'm waiting to see it myself. This car might be purchased for about 1k less than the others. It will basically be a literal fresh start to upgrade, but more horsepower to start with. I wanted reasonable opinions/arguments from you guys as to the better way to go. All help is appreciated.
