Good Evening everyone
So here I am finally creating a profile and introducing myself to this forum. I'm Vince, from the Sacramento area, CA. Proud owner of a 1993 SC300 5spd manual, Diamond White Pearl, 2nd owner, Clean title. 260k miles on the car, 120k on the engine.
Bought the car from the original owner in 2009. The water pump went out on him, he drove the car with no coolant blew the head gasket, then while the car was at Magnussen Fremont Lexus waiting for a new head gasket the guy saw a 2010 LS460 he fell in love with. He told the dealer to keep the SC as a trade in and off he went in his new Lexus and he never looked back! I guess on a brain surgeon salary you can do that. The car was listed on craigslist by the dealer techs as a mechanics special for $1500. I low balled them to $900, found a 2jzge from a 94 supra for $1700 and had a local shop put it in for $1250. I have the original dealer window stickers from 93, and all the registration cards from the first owner. He kept all maintenance records and receipts from the dealer of all service and parts and all original manuals and booklets and the certificate of inspection from Japan..He went to the dealer for EVERYTHING!
On to the important stuff, I should give credit where its due, since i've had the car I have been coming to ClubLexus for everything. Every time I googled "how to" followed by some keywords and ClubLexus DIY forums are the first links to pop up. I have used DIY threads for many projects and they are all very well written and helped me do my projects right! So its about time I created a account and became an active member of these forums.
Now that i'm done writing that novel..here's stuff about my sc300.

Nice car..... Look forward to seeing it at one of the Nor Cal meets....
BTW, I think you meant the previous owner fell in love with a "2010 LS460" as the last year for an LS400 was 2000.... (and the years jump over the LS430).

Hi all,
I am an ASE L1 Master tech of well over 40 yrs but who counting, I like special cars like the SC400 that really put Lexus above the rest when it arrived, From the fit and finish to the innovative door hinges. I purchased this car from a customer who loved the car but she had let it go and for whatever reason decided to sell it, Original sold at Longo Lexus in LA it's totally rust free with no evidence of ever having body damage,The car we repainted Diamond white pearl and wet sanded the entire care to a glass finish ( fading and rock chips with some usual door dings. We reupholstered the front seats with Italian leather, New motor and trans mounts, timing belt and water pump with all new pulleys, New Radiator, We found some very nice factory 5 spokes and chose Pirelli Cinturato's for comfort and ride, New Frt struts, New Converter, All new Brakes, Rear Axles 1 coupler, and Installed Viper remote start . We found a very nice 98 visor with factory home link (not available in 95) it has the Nakamichi and 12 disc options, We enjoy making them perform like new.
Martin : )
Pics in profile, There's never a 10 yr old around when I need one!

Hi All. I have a '96 SC300 of which I am the 2nd owner. Purchased it in 2001 when I graduated from college from a 93 yo man. Have observed these forums for a while without ever joining but am now at a point where the car is in need of a refresh/replacement to the original suspension, exhaust and also the AC recently stopped working as I am now at 170,000 miles. PM me with any ideas you have for me! Consider this a WTB for the above items also. Let me know what you have.
Thanks
Thanks

Howdy, name's Kevin.
I am the new proud owner of my first Lexus! It's a 99 SC400 with all the 5speed auto and VVT goodness
Only pic I currently have:
I have been around on car forums for awhile now starting with a 2nd generation rx-7, to 240's, to civic's, a miata, and now this bad boy.
Here's some cars I've built in the past:
LOL
Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself.
As far as my plans for my new-to-me Lexus, I'm going to keep it pretty stock. All I need for it right now is a damn AMPLIFIER

My name is Brittany and I recently bought a 1992 SC400 with 215800 miles. She definitely needs some TLC. I'm trying to sort out the nightmare that is my sound system.... since the previous owner decided to cut and hack. Goal is to bring her back to factory specs (car phone and all)!

Hello.....
I just bought a 95' SC300 and i am excited about the future. I have owned two a 87' Celica GT-S, 3 MK3 Supras{last one 1J swapped}, and a 87" corolla GT-S. I am a toyota enthusiast for life. Going more cosmetic than speed this time with this SC. I have always loved the shape/styling of the SC but could not afford one back in the day. Seems to be alot of cool people and good info here.

Hello SC Gurus:
I just picked up my 1998 SC400 with 66K miles. My boys are ready to drive it now!
Fun drive - felt a lot like a Porsche 928 I had (but hopefully more reliable and cheaper to maintain!).
First thing is to buy some new tires. Any suggestions for all seasons?

This is actually my first Japanese car: SC300
My toy is a 92 Lexus SC300 with an air-ride suspension and some old school racing hearts rims. She's not super fast, but she's sexy as hell. My future plans include a little body kit, preferably something OEM and polyurethane. I've had nothing but a miserable time using those duraflex kits. They just don't fit. But that's another matter altogether.
As far as who I am, I'm an engineer by trade, the majority of my past vehicles were either german (BMW M3, Audi S8) or American (Plymouth Prowler, Charger SRT) and with 9 points on my license, I've been spending more time in my SC300 as frankly, she's not so fast, and with the rims/suspension I have, going fast is just a bad decision all around.
She's not my daily driver, but she's fun. Looking forward to spending some time perusing the forums and getting some additional insight into other Lexus SC projects and what people have done with theirs.
Cheers!
Dimitri
