Default 1993 sc400.

I've lurked here for a while and thought about posting. Now is the time. I've had my Garnet 1993 SC400 for about a year. 142k and in good shape for the most part. I got it from a family member who bought it when it was a year old. She kept up with the maintenance and gave it to me when she stopped driving. I had wanted it for a long time and really enjoy driving it. It needs a few things to bring it up to a daily driver state but hey, it's an old car. I've read many of the threads here and feel like I know what to be on the look out for regarding problems, so thanks for that. I've also found a mechanic I trust and that seems to be an important part of owning these jewels. He's a Toyota specialist to boot. It's at the shop now for a right control arm and struts replacement as well as an AC recharge. It needs front tires as well, dry rot and the effects of the control arm being shot. BTW, I'm in NW Arkansas and the car is from Central Arkansas. I'm looking forward to the journey with this car and I hope it doesn't prove too expensive.

Default 93 sc400

Whats up all my name is Deonte. Just recently purchased a 93 SC400 with 150k miles, runs strong but she is not the prettiest lol. I've been wanting a sc for a project car for awhile now. Messed with a mk2 and a cressida and a camry in the past. Looking forward to meeting more sc owners in the nc area . And building a beast of a SC.

Hey everyone. My name is Richie and I'm an IT student in Oklahoma. Just bought my first Lexus couple days ago, a 1997 SC400. I posted some pics below in am imgur album but I'll try and imbed one right here(doesn't seem to want to work half the time.)

The car has 160k on the clock. It's a two owner car from Texas. Clean as can be, so much so I was skeptical that it wasn't stolen or something. Bought it from a current employee of my former boss on the spot for $3500 about 4 hours after seeing it. It needs a bit of work but nothing major.

Here's the IMGUR album.

Well here goes.. Been reading on here for about 6 months learned a lot so thank you. I have a 93 SC300 with big plans (these plans will actually happen unlike dreams people make and never accomplish) I picked up the car for stupid cheap like $600 from a friend who has a friend who needed it gone and that was after giving him a $100 finders fee.. It's a stock auto with 180k I already have a widebody kit getting priced for install and paint I have 18x10.5 forgeline wheels momo steering wheel ls400 front brakes supra tt rear subframe custom exhaust superspark supra TT coils sparco Evo 2 plus seat and probably some other stuff laying around the shop.. Plans are to have all cosmetic and interior finished for this summer then next winter pull the driveline redo the bottom end tt head gasket studs gaskets timing belt blah blah blah .. Install manual trans and supra subframe hopefully grab an auto tt diff then on to the turbo kit it'll have a precision 62/62 FFIM and V mount intercooler/radiator (because it has the room and I can) with a bunch of ducting for awesome air flow
That part may take a while but shooting to be completed by next summer and with having all the parts, equipment and know how it should be feasible. So there's that I don't post much but will defiantly have some questions for the SC gurus as this will be my first toyota/lexus build.
And again thanks in advance
As for pics I don't have any of the car as im sure you've all seen a stock SC but I may post pics as parts start to go on.

Default Hello I'm new!

I've lurked around club Lexus forums for a while now. Here and there when I need some guidance and help. Figured I should start one finally. I have a 93 sc3 it has a body and some rims on it not much else. I tore it down. Whole interior is gone. Seats gone. Paint (was burgundy) is almost gone. It's got a lot of work ahead of it but I have time. My girlfriends supra helps pass my time though say hey to me. It's always nice to have someone else to talk with that shares the same like interests and also has some constructive criticism. I might learn a thing or two from all you old dogs. I used to be all about Nissan I had an s13 and s14. Both now gone. Love the 2jz. Figured I had to make that jump! Still love Silvia's though. I live in Colorado springs so if there's anyone else here say what's up!

Default Not New here, but finally Introducing myself

Greetings all. My name is Ben, I am by no means new here. I have been using CL as a reference at least ten or so years, been an official member since some time in 2007 I think. I own a fabrications shop I am an automotive engineer as well as a general engineer with experience in, well,,,,, CARS, electrical, electronics, carpentry, metal fabrications and an all around jack of all trades(the proverbial "master of none", LOL). My background being, love of cars, and movie effects and prop building. I have owned two Lexus Vehicle in the past, a 1993 SC400(in my avatar) and a 1999 GS400. I lost the GS in a divorce three years ago, but recently acquired a nice 1999 SC400. I'd share the pictures, but for some reason currently I am not "allowed" to add pictures in the members albums section. I have been modding and building cars of all makes and styles since the early 1980's. I owned a "Drift" team for a while and as you guessed it, lost the car/trailer, team ownership and my interest in drifting with that same nasty divorce. I am hoping to help fellow Lexus members here in lending my automotive knowledge and also help with cheats and problem solving acquired from many years of experience with building cars.

Default 98 SC400 in Michigan

Just registered after lurking for a few years. I retired from Ford Motor Company where they trained me in Lean Manufacturing, including many trips to Toyota. I became an internal Lean Guru and tried teaching and coaching Ford Manufacturing leadership to institute Lean manufacturing. It is all about "thinking", not the "tools". This training led to my purchase.
I bought my red 1998 SC 400 in 2002 with 25K miles. It now has just over 175K and has been trouble free. I regularly have it serviced by the local Lexus dealer about every 5K.
I purchased 18" wheels and tires for it and use the stock wheels for snow tires, which go on every fall and come off in spring. The improvement for winter driving is beyond phenomenal!
I purchased a HID kit for the headlamps from one of the suppliers found on CL and am very happy with the improved lighting. I run with my headlights on all the time, as DRL. I will try posting before and after pics.
I also bought LED replacement bulbs for my Tail lights and Stop Lamps, but am now getting a warning light on my cluster. I came here to find a solution and have read about the hyper blinking but am not sure that is the correct solution.
Future projects include upgrading lighting in the cluster (already found a source from CL) and probably will use more LED bulbs throughout the car. I am considering HID Fogs but cannot decide between 4300K (White) like my Headlights or the 3000K (Yellow, like France). I am considering adding LED lights to the front of the car as DRL so I can revert to using the headlights as needed and not all the time.

Default My new Soarer 2jzz31. cruise anyone?

sup. i just recently bought a low km black 1996 2jz-ge. didn't know to much about these cars prior to purchasing, but did not take long too fall in love. this car has attitude. im still getting used to the head turning aspect this car gives off. people seem to stare. so that got me thinking, i need too find some other like minded car enthusiasts that want to talk s#@t, drink, laugh, modify, exchange tips or just go for a cruise. im in Christchurch new Zealand 02108237418 (im using data from a Nokia, hence the lack of pics. SORRY. will get to a pc and upload ASAP. all i can add is he's been dropped on some fat 18" alloys has very low kms and has taken over my life.

Mark.
