Name is brent I have had my 93 sc400 for 2 years now. 155k on it .its 100% stock. Finally after getting all the maintenance done and i enjoy driving it again and not worry about how long can i push this bad part Its time to start tastefully modifying it.

so far the front end has been rebuilt after a leaking front main seal.
new coils.
fixed the leaking radiator fill tank
new steering rack bushings
new inner tie rod
and an alignment.

Looking forward to being apart of this forum.

Default New 93 SC300 owner

Hello, my name is Jeremy.

I purchased a 93 SC 300 about two weeks ago. It has 131000 miles on it and I had gotten it from a mechanic friend. He started tweeking the car to be a drift car. It has a very healthy 2jzge, that's what cought my attention. It's also a 5 speed car. He had welded the rear end to make it full posi and put some coil overs on it and dropped it about and inch and a half. The car has 17" Hyundai wheels on it and it fits for now. The toe on the rear is way out so I ordered some godspeed toe adjustable arms for it. They are on the way. The car had sat for two years so it was quite the job detailing the interior and had a major ant problem. With that taken care of I'm finding things that I need fixed to make it road worthy. First and foremost I need to replace the turn signal switch. It doesn't work. However the telescoping memory steering wheel, headlights and hazards work fine. All the bulbs are good and sockets are clean and work when tested. I would like to find a factory head unit as the car is missing it. Next I need a passenger rear quarter panel. It has unfixable damage to it. It's a pearl white car. I am very excited about this car because I love the sleek lines and the pure potential it has.

Welcome to CL. Inspect the alternator and if it is the original or a cheap replacement it would be good to add it to your list and get the best rebuilt you can afford. I just recently replaced mine ('92 SC300 with over 200K) and I can not add up all of the improvements this had all around with the car. SCs have a lot of electronics and depend on good power. You may consider battery cables as well.

Post pictures of your progress and upgrades in the main section......

Default My Green Machine '92 SC300

Hello everyone I'm Damien and not necessarily new to the Lexus family but new to here. My car has been in my family since it's creation and I've had it for almost 5 years now and I love this car. I swear I made an account on here before but I was never active but now I will be more active because now I'm getting to the part where I'm not fixing problems but starting to upgrade the car. Looking forward to having a lot of info from people on here!

Also, I've been to a Lexus dealership and for kicks and giggles i asked them to decode the VIN and this car is frame #1522. I thought it was a neat tidbit and would like to see if there are lower ones out there somewhere.

Hey all. My name is Shawn. I have been a member on these boards as I have a 2gs, but just picked up a 1992 original 5 speed with 298,000 miles on it. Previous owner apparently babied the car until his passing. According to his son, his last words were "make sure to bring in the car to get a tune up." Car still runs great despite its high miles. Seats were redone with blue leather to match the blue paint job I guess, so leather is in good condition. Of course, there are some broken plastic pieces. Hoping to learn a lot about this great looking car!

Default New guy here

Blake from Sheridan, Arkansas, i just picked up my 93 SC400 last saturday. I traded my 88 civic for it. I have this, 99 impreza coupe, and hopefully soon a 90 CRX. Has less than 100K on current 1uz but 233K on body, only sway bar links are worn out so far. She was only running on 4 cyl when i picked her up, had the main wire on driver side dizzy melted. All i need left is a MAF to get her outta limp mode and over 4K rpms. Gauge cluster sucks, tach and fuel move, but only the speedo is illuminated. The A/C screen doesn't show but half, and the fan is stuck on low. Almost no leather left in front seats, shifter is broken like most of them. Needs work on driver door and new panel since my roommate and i tore it out to get the damn door to open. Driver window will not roll down, and controls on the panel won't roll either window down.

Default Jzz30 sc400

Good day fellow enthusiasts,

I picked up this black beauty from the original owner with only 106k miles on it.

Originally I had 20" rims which didn't work out (Tire profile was so low that I cracked one).

Then I decided to go with the 2005 SC430 wheels. (I noticed the car handles a whole hell of a lot better.)

Was planning on doing the 1uzfe VVTi + Eaton M112 + R154 + Welded Diff/TT LSD but may end up going the 2JZGTE + Single Turbo + R154 (As long as possible before V160) + TT LSD route. (Still researching)
