Hey guys I bought my first car, a white 1996 Lexus sc 400.. ayyye~ It was in good condition for 2500$ in norcal in Sep 2017 (few months ago). Unfortunately after 2 months of abuse (5k+ miles no maintenance or checkup and driving 90-140mph on the freeway the head gasket gave way ... now im in the process of reviving this thang. Been always a lexus fanatic looked at lfa, rcf, gsf for years before settling on sc400 cus im poor 25 year old with no job atm. Glad to be here guys~

I was a noob and I was super excited when I got my first car 4 months ago.. a pearl white 1996 lexus sc400!!! I put on about 5k miles and I still feel the same!!! lets always be fervent with our passion and love for this car as we did at first. I am adding and changing so much to my baby ever since the head gasket went bad. She has been in coma for 2months and I just now recently completed surgery on her... just needs a few more bolts and stitches

Newbie with sc300 swap in a celica
Hi All my name is Rob i been searching & research for awhile surfing different sites for info & like this one😀 Lots of help pics etc... I currently have a 84 celica with a 2jzge swap I purchased from a running 92 sc300. The guy was going 2jzgte & didnt want to change the headgasket, arp bolts & so forth. My 22re was in need of a rebuilt but I seen an opportunity to swap out for something with a lot of available parts & more POWER. I'm not looking for much just enough to give the car a quicker 0-60 with little to no lag, reliability, & ease of labor as far as changing plugs, oil, belts etc... So far I have changed the head gasket with a 2jzgte installed rap bolts with the aid of my boy Ron in Queens, Ny. I also changed the seals for cams front & rear seals plus valve cover. I installed a twin scroll exhaust manifold with a CX racing gt35 turbo that will fit under the intake for now. I have a Godspeed t4 t67, & another Garrett twin scroll but the cold side is 60 & the rear is 1.15ar 😕 & wouldn't fit. I'm in the process of swapping the fuel lines to connect to the 2jz. I'm using stock injectors just to get it running then later on ill install some 440cc 7mgte injectors with a aeromotive fuel regulator. I have a walboro 255 currently which i think suffice for my power goals which is around 400ish not sure depends on the celicasupra w58 & 6 puck I have installed. I also have a Ford explorer 8.8 rearend to handle the additional torque😁I am going to use the stock sc300 ecu to start it up, then maybe be install a supra (2jzgte ecu) to keep cost down. Maybe install a AEM standalone if I find one for a decent price🤔 Anyways I am aware this isn't a celica site but will need all the useful information on this site for the swap & getting it to run reliably. Thank you all in advance. Regards Rob

My project Sc300
Hi everyone, I'm Kyle. I've been lurking for a couple months here and finally made a profile. I've got a 92 Sc300 with 225k. Full stock, which means it's got all the usual problems and wear and tear. I intend to throw a 2jz-gte and manual tranny in it once i have the money. I just figured I'd introduce myself. I'll post some pics later when it's daytime. I've already learned a lot from this community, and I'll definitely need all the help I can get, as I am certainly NOT A mechanic. Lol

I'm a new member with a 09 ES350 that at 140K miles is giving me several problems. Upon return from the body shop after a front end collision with a cow, the digital readout stuck on "CHECK VSC" , the warning triangle stays lit along with traction and ABS lights in the dash. The dealer diagnosed the ABS Skid Control Actuator needs replaced at a cost of $2500. My insurance said it was not a result of the accident so they wouldn't pay. I decided to replace it with a salvage unit and bleed all the brake lines. This went well except the warning lights are all still on. The next diagnosis was a faulty Yawl Sensor, which is now on order.
The last few weeks, it will fail to start on frequent occasions even with a new battery and a check of the charging system. I am thinking that I may have a defective ignition button. I have replaced the battery in the Fob, but it didn't cure the problem. Is it possible to replace the ignition and reprogram it to my old Fobs or do I need to purchase new Fobs with it ? Most salvage units that I have seen of Car-Part.com only have 1 Fob.
