Hello
Been lurking here for about a year and learned a lot. Figure it's time to actually join.
Here's my 99 I picked up a while ago. Not many changes since. In the process of redoing the interior. Caught up on all the maintenance, new timing belt, spark plugs, etc. Still needs a LOT of work before I'm happy with it enough to consider it done. Or maybe I'll just tinker on it forever. We'll see

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and looking for some help with my sc400 supercharger project, wasn't sure where to post and seek helpful advice. The install is almost complete and running smoothly, I have run into a speed bump with extending the throttle cable and transmission kickdown cable. I have the bullet performance m90 kit installed, great kit just working out the last few kinks. Still tidying up vacuum lines and such. Any advice would be appreciated, I apologize if I haven't posted in the correct area. My vehicle is a 1997 Lexus Sc400.

That thing looks killer!! Welcome guys. There's a true wealth of knowledge about these cars and a lot of us who feel very passionately about them.
As for your throttle and kick down situation I'm not sure what to suggest. You may have to look into some universal Lokar (or similar brand) universal cables and cut them to length.

Thank you very much, it sounds as good as it looks, still finishing up the dual x pipes on the exhaust, ended up putting the wide band sensor on the flange the EGR tube went to, convenient spot, very difficult to get to but not impossible. I thought the jumping thru hoops was over until I went to hit the throttle lol
I looked into those cables and they gave me a few good ideas, thanks again for the recommendation on those lokar cables, been a very exciting project for my wife and I, we have a deep Jewel green 1996 Ls400 with gold is300 wheels, it has 278,000 miles and still runs like a swiss watch, her and I have had that car together for about 10 years, she just loves it, and sees it as an elegant piece in our memories. There really is a passion for Lexus cars like these, and you don't experience it until you get behind the wheel, the ride quality is unlike any other, they were way ahead of their time in the 90s. I have done the starter and timing belt on the Ls, big hurdle for sure but worth the time, my friends that drive Chevy's or Ford's about crap them selves when I put a fresh open beer on the top of the intake and rev it to redline without even rippling the liquid, then have to drink it along with their pride since they now need to buy one lol thank you for welcoming me to the forum.

New Member Ride from Australia - Royal Sapphire Pearl 3.0
Hi Guys
I have used the info on this forum numerous times over last year, so thought I would signup and contribute!
Having previously owned a 1992 TT Soarer which I really missed nearly 20 years ago, I imported a 1999 Toyota Soarer 3.0GT last year.
I was very surprised at how good the engine is, I feel that it is more responsive (not as laggy) than the twin turbo I used to own - perhaps its the VVTi or the fact that its Series 3 and was just newer than my old TT, but overall I think its a better car than the twin turbo I used to own!
My car was also optioned with a "G package" with leather interior (which is rare for a Soarer as leather was only normally seen on V8s).
Also have a parking pole
Having the factory headers in Series 3 was also a pleasant surprise - its much louder than my old stock TT.
I have spent the last year fixing bits and pieces myself:
- Paint 80% of panels were resprayed in original color - Royal Sapphire Pearl (RSP) - was able to find a good cost -effective painter to do this
- IS350 Fsport wheels (staggered) on Falken 225 40 18 (front) and 265 35 18 (rear). Made a big positive difference to steering and cornering.
- Air filter/cabin filter replaced (Toyota)
- Changed oil (5-30 Castrol) and oil filter (Toyota)
- PCV valve and various vacuum lines replaced or custom made myself
- Windscreen wipers replaced with Bosch
Other than above, my mechanic replaced:
- Radiator (Denso unit - this forum helped me make the decision to go Denso, and have been really happy with it)
- Water pump
- Timing belt
- Rocker cover gaskets
- Radiator hoses and thermostat
- Serpentine belt, tensioner
The previous Japanese owner painted the interior of the headlights black, which actually looks good with the darker IS350 wheels in my opinion.
Finally, there are not as many Soarers (SC400s, SC300s, TTs) on the road anymore in Australia, so you guys in the US are lucky you can still snap up bargains. They are great cars, hope to own mine for a long time and continue to use this awesome forum!

I just took delivery of this 92 sc400 this week. I imagine some of you might have seen it at auction on cars and bids. If you did, you may also have noticed that I, Ovy, didn't actually win that auction but that's a whole other thing. I still wound up with the car.

Hello neighbors, my name is Dakota and I just bought a 92 SC400 for the big price of $400 bucks. Upon buying it I knew there was issues. First the timing was way off and I fixed that and now my ECU is trash.
