That thing is a BEAUTY! What a combo. Be sure to enjoy that bad boy - there aren't many more like it left out there.

Thank you! I already love this thing. The one thing that shocks me is the size of the doors! I've always heard people say they are huge, but they are even bigger in person

Default SC400 in France…

Hello all from cloudy Normandy in France.

I have been a long time reader of Lexus forums and was directed towards this one not so long ago.
Totally unexpected because it was never imported in Europe, I bought two weeks ago a Lexus SC400, First registered in October 1992! It clocks 156.450 miles. Dark green outside, Tan inside. It needs a complete rebuild. Inside is in poor condition, hasn’t got the original stereo.
Engines works fine, except it stalls from time to time when it idles. Therefore I removed to ecu today and gave to a friend who is an electronic engineer so that he can change the capacitors. I has the TRAC and Check engine lights on. Also the steering wheel tilt wouldn’t tilt, so I fixed that yesterday! I’ll take it to a mechanic for new bushes all around, and will have it repainted after.
Cheers from Normandy!
Pierre

Looks like you have a good start going. Wish you all the luck to finish your SC, just don't get discouraged. There is always time in the future to finish it.

It is the start to a long term love affair. Once you have one of these beauties, everything else (other cars) gets compared to it. I have a '98 (red) and a '99 SC400 (white)--my thinks that I'm crazy! But I'm having fun. Have learned a lot about switching out the steering wheel on these. Ebay is a good source except that the quality of the air bag with the Lexus emblem can be a challenge. Most emblems (but not all) show wear and they cannot be repaired. There is a place is Texas called "Craft Custom" that will refurbish the leather for $295 or the entire wheel, including the wood for $550.00. Unfortunately, they don't do any work on the air bag part with the Lexus emblem.

Default 1998 Lexus sc400

I bought this 1998 Lexus sc400 from El Paso, Tx with 98,000 miles on it. I recently had the timing belt replaced water pump replaced along with new front struts. This year in 2023 I need to replace my upper and lower control arm. Overall, my car runs exceptional well.

New here. I have a 1994 SC400. Well, it is mostly my lady friends now as she has claimed it that way. I am in San Francisco Bay Area California, (for now anyway). Have had the SC400 about 10 years. Last year I had to body cleaned up and re-painted. It has 130000 miles on it. Have a couple of problems with it but Love to get it out and cruise the freeways to let it loose at times.

Here are a couple of photos

Enjoy! I have a 1995 SC400 and even though it has 244,000 plus miles on it, with regular maintenance, the car runs and drives like a dream. Have fun!

Hello everyone!
I recently acquired a SC400 roller with missing motor, trans, engine harness and front seats. It previously had a 2JZ-GTE in it.
Long story short I have (or had, haven't decided yet) a Mitsubishi Starion resto project that's been on hold for 10 long years (2JZ swap among other things). When I finally decided to revive it, this roller was offered, so I started doing my research on the car and stumbled upon this here forum. I've read a few of the threads to familiarize myself with the car and ended up liking it. I'll be honest, can't say that I love it yet since I haven't driven in it but the more I look it up the more I'm liking it.
Looking forward to being on the forum and getting to know the community.

Cheers!

P.S. Pics will be available once I have the roller at home.
