I could never ever get through a project like that. Good 4 U man. Enjoy the car - you've earned it!

Kudos - nice paint job. I've painted MANY cars and Black is the hardest to shoot. Looks awsome - you obviously knew what you were doing. Did you use a single stage or a a 2 stage paint? Either way - looks great.

Now the hardest part is getting all the compound out of the body seams after you buff it!

Looks great! Also would like to know the specs on the paint. How many cars have you restored?

Thumbs up Salvation!

jdsmith46,

Looks amazing, you did a great job on it.

Recently we have been hearing too many “hit or wrecked” stories and pictures of SC’s. It’s nice to see one saved instead of trashed. Keep up the great work.

Nice job with the car
Now, all you have to do is show it to the man who sold you the car, and make him regret it

i spent about 1200 total for material, that includes new window seals, Ever coat z- grip(Bondo material), primer, sealer, paint, clear coat, compund. Good material is not cheap!

I shot it in 2 stage. I questioned myself for some time on the extent of this. I figured I am there, I might as well lay some good stuff. i used PPG products. It seams to be more user friendly than Dupont,

The paint is a 2 stage paint, Base coat clear coat. The car originally had a single stage. The color is 7090 i think. Your local material supply can give you the conversion. It is just plain black. You save about 50% on the color that way. This is my third. the last car was a Mercedes E300. Hated driving that car. It was like I was retired and driving!

Cool, hope to see more. I'm looking on repainting/restoring mine eventually. All you did was clean the interior? How was the leather? Mine only has ~115k and the driver seat is cracked pretty badly.
