Here is some more info for those of you that are interested.

The seats are black leather out of an RX-8 .
The driver seat is power, and the passenger seat is manual.
The passenger seat brackets can be swapped with the SC300 seat and bolt into place.
Its wise to remove all the guts from the SC300 bracket (ie: motors) to save weight.
The driver side seat on Rx-8 is completely different than the passenger side, and will need alot more work to put into the car.

I took the brackets off the Stock SC300 seats and removed everything to just the bare rails.
Than i took the mounting point off the rail from the rx8 seat and welded the brackets from the SC300 seat onto the RX8 Seat to bolt right into car.

I am currently working on the wiring and am using the plug connector from stock SC300 to work with the RX8 so its a simple plug and play.

The passanger side seat saves weight, but the driver side seems just about the same. So you dont really do this mod to save weight, i did it because i had them sitting around and my SC300 couches were disgusting and needed to be changed.

Very nice upgrade, I would have never thought of that. And I also own a 1994 Mazda Rx7 so adding Rx8 seats to my SC300 sounds even better to me! LoL

The seat looks nice, as far as seats go, but out of place. Kinda stands out like a sore thumb. You're obviously not interested in changing the color of the seat so maybe if you do a black interior conversion it'll look nice.

After searching, im gonna resurrect.
I found some rx8 seats at a yard close and liked the look so im currently switching over. Any luck with the wiring. I can not seem to find the sc300 wiring diagram for the seat. So i dont know what wire to hook to what wire.

RedmaNSSC3,

The OP said he couldnt get the drivers side rails on the seat, so youd have to find a RHD car and get the rails off the passenger seat to use on your drivers side.

Im not having a problem with the rails. I have an idea for the drivers rails which ill be doing my next free time in a couple of days. My problem is finding the wiring diagram for the SC300 coming from the car. Im going to use my sc300 seat connector and solder it to the rx8 seat, but i need to know what wire does what first.

Ill also make sure I weigh them before i bolt them in.

It should be similar to wiring a supra seat. Just find the power and ground from the rx8 seat and connect it to the SC seat harness. Here's a quick diagram, I used 7 for power and 12 for ground when I wired in my supra seat hopefully it's the same for the rx8.

Thank you jjffyy

I was able to figure it out.

#7 12v ------ 2 white w/ green stripe
#12 & #11 --------- a black & black w/ red stripe
#11 was connected only for the seat belt light to stay off

As for the driver rails, I cut off the entire bottom side rail and welded it to the bottom of the rx8 rail after grinding everything off.

Adding some RX-8 seat weights. Drivers Seat weighs 50 lbs and Passenger Seat weighs 40 lbs. This is with the SC rails welded on, scale plus or minus 2lbs, its cheap from walmart.
