^ you'll get better mpg with higher octane gas.
Get a 98+ sc400 if your not looking to do engine mods. Any sc300 if you are.
Seems like the 400 would be your best bet for what your looking for though. I've had 2 pre-98's and now a 99', and it's leaps and bounds better than the pre-98's.

I'll just tell you the mistake I made and hopefully you can avoid it: don't settle on or impulse buy a 300 just because you are in a hurry. I was in the market for a 98+ 400 and settled for a clean 300; but if I had to do it again, I'd definitely hold out for a 400. Just my experience.

The good news is either way you're going to be getting into a sweet ride. Edit: Oh, and my 300 averages 28-29 mpg at 70 mph. Since I doubt it's too hilly where you live, you should see similar results.

Thanks so a 99+ is the one to get? I really want a 400 now! The v8 sounds sweet and I'm into cruising. Don't race at all. Still looking but nothing so far
