Default Tampa, FL saying hi

Hello all, I'm in the market for a sc300/400 (not sure which one yet). I got transferred at my job and my commute went from 10 miles to 70 miles (round trip). My current vehicle isn't cutting it (2007 4wd tacoma with km2's). I'm getting 15 mpg (hwy/city ).

So I had a few questions.

1.) what is realistic mpg from a sc400? I looked at edmunds and fueleconomy.com and they say 15-16 city 20 hwy. That sounds killer but is it realistic? Some times the mpg isn't accurate on those sites.

2.) If I am not into going fast which model should I get? My plans for the car are to make it reliable (even though from what I hear its pretty damn reliable) then tint the windows, rims, tires, drop, exhaust. I'm thinking the sc400 would be best for what I'm looking at doing.

3.) Are these "good" prices?

I test drove a sc300 last week and fell in love. It was so bad *** in every aspect. Stock it was clean then I jumped on here to see the potential and really want one.

And pics of my current ride (pre km2's) for the pic *****s

I'd get a 98+ SC400. It has a 5spd auto.

You can get 30mpg+ cruising the highway.

Definitely get the 98+ SC400. They are already fast, and SUPER reliable. If you liked a stock SC300, you will instantly fall in love with the 98+ SC400. The power-train is easily one of the smoothest ever made.

Welcome to CL. Ya if your not into speed and you need reliability its deff a good car to get. I'm not sure what both models put out for mpg but both SC300 and 400 are very reliable

Just "SEARCH" you'll find everything.

Not to be a dream killer, but call the 300 owner, last time I spoke with her, she claimed to have sold it.
I COULD BE WRONG, but better safe then sorry. And welcome to CL

If everything checks out with inspection/records and it has not been sold? I would go with the 2000 Sc300, has all the current upgrades.

Thanks for the reply guys! Email sent to the sc300 owner. We shall see what happens. I just ordered a new grill for my truck all I gotta do is clean it and take pictures for the for sale add.

I want a sc so bad now, I'm seeing them all over.

Quick question! Are all sc3/400's premium gas only?

edit: I just searched  and realize you do need to run premium!
