Pre-1997 only leaves you 2 options - BMW European D1 H.I.D.'s which were unlike the projectors systems we know today and the Lincoln LSC's from 96-98 which were DC, unreliable, and used a brick-sized ballast.

The HID-equipped Mark VIII did not use a projector anyway; they were regular reflector lenses in both the rare 1995-96 offering and the 97+ redesigned lights.

The OP didn't say HID projectors, but then again, projector lenses were kind of rare in the 90s anyway. The 3000GT/Stealth offered them in 1994+ models.

Without knowing the final goal, we won't really know what vehicles might do the trick.

sorry for the late post but moojohn hit it right on the head. im not worried about hids, im retrofitting projectors into high beams for aesthetics. I say pre 97 because theyre more common in junk yards! ill keep an eye out for 3000gts also!

keep the ideas coming guys!

Things narrow considerably when you want a projector high beam. I don't recall any other car of that vintage having projectors for everything.

My former Stealth: TT (12.5@109 with mbc, downpipe, injectors)

I assume you already know you can buy plug & play projector highs on ebay for around $100 that match the stockers nicely, with either a chrome or black interior surface..

Why pe-97 only?

With the few bucks you'd save buying old projectors, you are really not doing anything to improve light output or obtain a nice cutoff.

Odds are, any projector made that long ago is probably a POS. Just get some TSX projectors, they are not expensive and will be a million times nicer than anything pre-97.

^ because its just for aesthetics. I'm more interested in how its going to look with the lights off rather than on. I rarely use my high beams anyways! TSX's projectors are much too large also i think. I'll have to look into it

Ok before i continue, I was searching around to see if its been done and... hmm i cant tell if this is a retrofit or if these are just delined black housing high beams. lmk thoughts people (eliteskills car btw)

my main problem is I have black housing lowbeams with a bright projector reflection... then the contrast from my high beams (which are also blacked out....well I didnt paint the shield) takes away from how well it should flow together

The tsx are smaller than the factory ones. I needed to use a bezel to fill in the space between the chrome housing the projector because there was an empty space there. here's a pic of mine:

OK. you didn't say anything about putting them in high beams in the OP.

If some guy can put Q45 projectors in the high beams, you can easily put tsx projectors in.

OP should consider Bi-Xenon projectors such as FX-R's or Morimoto Mini's to retain high beam function. But if it's just for sake of having projectors in the high beams, why not buy the eBay set? It'll save time, money, and headache.

But IMO, light output is also part of aesthetics (Morimoto Mini output photo):

Nice light output with sharp cutoff makes the car appear more modern and up to date. If you're going to open up the light housing to retrofit, why not put in a good pair of projectors while you're in there?

If you're gonna run projectors in your highbeams might as well use them. Run fx-rs or minis as ^ stated. Then you'll be running quads, except your lows will suck.
