if you've got the cash for it, go for a k40 system. my sc came from florida, and it had a k-40 un3000 undetectable radar/laser/detector-detector that's hidden and looks stock, even tho it obviously isnt. there are two little lights that are built into the black part of the instrument panel (where the clock buttons are), one on each side of the steering column, a little black antenna (about the size of a cell phone antenna) on the back of my rear windshield, and a sensor in back of each bumper. it lets yu know what band its picking up (different sound/light patterns...no, i dunno where the speaker is heh) and if the cop is to your side, in front of or in back of you. its saved me more than a dozen times, and it always picks up a cop at least 1,000 feet away (rough estimate). my bmw had an escort that was hard wired and sat under my steering column, and it didnt do anywhere near as good a job.

Take apart the Dome Light/Sun-roof switch assembly thingy. Use a volt meter to find (+) power that is switched with the acc/ignition (key). (Use a volt meter). Ground works fine for the (-). There is your power.

Now remove the sun visor above the mirror. Take your suction cup attachment from the radar detector, remove the cups. Shape is so that it will mount to the visor screws.

This works good for me. Keeps the radar detector out of site unless you are sitting in the car.

Here is a pic. - sorry one didn't focus well, tried to get the visor screws in the pic.
well, that is a damn cool idea, nice work......i may have to do that on the SC3 some day

AZN Lex - Pry off the clear light cover, you will find screws (3 I think).

Also, I relaize the mirror is slightly in the way but it seems to work as good as it did sitting on the dash. I'm sure that with a little bit of effort one could place it above the mirror closer to the glass. Besides, it's a $100 radar detector. I don't expect much from it.
