It could be a pricey fix, no doubts. It's just becoming harder and harder to find a good SC since the cars are dying due to attrition. And with that year and mileage, it seems like a gem.
Buyback prices can be iffy- it all depends on the company and the adjuster. I've found that the less they know of your plans, the better. Just don't let them roll over on you.
An old co-worker clued me in on something today that might interest you. Get several quotes and see what if anything can be done about fixing it. I'm not sure of the exact procedure these days, but it would be a shame to see it salvaged over a dent.
An alternative would be to take a settlement and go wide-body, perhaps???

Brerrabbit makes a good point. I may have been hasty in saying take the check and buy back the car. I spoke with my insurance rep at USAA. You will forever being paying premiums on your vehicle as if it were a regular title vehicle BUT if you are in another accident, heaven forbid one that actually totals the car this time, the PAYOUT on the salvage title will be a fraction (half or less) of what the payout would have been on a regular title vehicle.
