Just called the dealer to ask them to order me a optional cup holder.

They told me that the 92-93 is different from the 94-on models and you cannot install a fold in cup holder. Is this true?

They said that the 92-93 SC's optional cup-holder is fixed and will not fold in like the 94-on models optional cup holder.

I don't even recall seeing a fixed optional cup holder.

I have a 92SC400 and want to install the fold-in cup-holder.

Order the passenger cup holder for 94+ SC. Ask VQT for help, he's installed the cup holders on both his 93 SC

That's a load of bull...I have a '92 and the cup holder works like any other year with it stock...

 

again, cost? I'd like to do this as well. If not for the added cup holder then to just get rid of the darn hole in the dash!

 

I have done this to 2 of my 92 SC's and they WORK PERFECTLY!! The installation process is about the same in the auto or the manual.

Wow! I haven't been around CL for a while, how is everybody?? I've been working on a little surprise modification as of late that is definitely unique & very cool ! But you need not worry, my glorious return is right around the corner! But anyhow, the cupholder. Please allow me to shine some light on this subject, listen to me on this one. I shopped around for the best price on a cupholder forever, but I found a great deal. I got mine brand-spanking new for $35 total (shipping, handling, everything for $35!) Which is the best price around. This deal was through BMA Auto Parts. Email Yves, he's a cool guy & he'll hook you up! YvesBright@bmaautoparts.com Just give him the part # & tell him what you want. They had very good service that was quick & friendly! I installed mine in my 93 & it fit w/ no trouble, matches perfectly, & it looks sooo much better than having that darn hole in the dash! i have a 93 sc and it also worked well for me, but I had a word of advice, be careful not to break the plastic tabs that hold the cupholder in. b/c I did and super glue wont hold the broken tab on, so basically I cant use the cupholder cause if I put any weight on it, it will fall out. just thought I would help out
