After riding a motorcycle in the rain for the 1st time, my SC feels so much safer.
I agree. All of those who are capable should learn how to ride a motorcycle. Riding in the rain not only forcefully teaches one to respect the traction tires can provide but also teaches one to maximize it through transition of weight in a smooth manner.
Once back in the driver seat of SC, it'll feel much steadier and one will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to predict how the car handles.
All RWD car are death traps in the rain, but most drivers think it will do the same on dry road which is why they get into accidents. Just know your limit of you and the car when drive on the rain. Also I love the rain because that when RWD accident auction cars pop up the most.
My car has a welded 4.27 rear diff huge camber in the rear and usually below 50% tread tires in the rear and the only time I worry about driving in the rain is on this one highway up here that for some reason gets really oily. Other than that its all just car and throttle control. The welded rear end is going to want to swing out you just throttle off through the corner
Its not the car, its the driver. Unless the car is not prepared to be driven in the rain (worn tires, ...etc)... well its still the drivers fault for not being careful under these conditions.
i agree with everyone else. i dd my sc300 rain sun or snow dont have any problems and im more willing to put my 3yr old in the back, than i was with my bonneville. hell he likes going a lil sideways
it all comes down to tires and throttle. my 1j will break the tires loose at 65 in the rain if i punch it, but if i stay out of the boost, it's just fine.
