SC's are death traps in the rain?

My 93 300 (no TC), which we had from new, was tail happy in any conditions.
It certainly bit me a few times in wet conditions even with top of the line tires.
I always thought it was stupid of Lexus not to put traction control on all of them.
Most of these cars are now in the hands of inexperienced drivers with low tire budgets, so that compounds the problem.
My 98 I've never even thought twice about in the rain even though it has 40% more torque. I'd forgotten what the 93 was like until this thread reminded me.

With snow tires, my car was horrible. Always sliding, anti lock getting a good workout when the light turned red, and lots of TC action trying to get going from a stop, even gently.
Now that I've taken off the snows, and put on Pilot super sports, it's fantastic. It's all grip, I haven't been able to break it loose. Traction control hasn't come on yet! What a sticky set of tires.
