Make sure to get names and contact info of other folks that were there that saw the incident so you have some witnesses (and point that out when you talk to your insurance and the police).

That would really **** me off. For one a officer is trained to use the ground to apprehend a suspect! What if we lived in a time where there were only horses, would he have done the same? I would call the county government or police station and see what they can do. I know its a long shot but if you have pics, videos, or even a statement form the accused that would be a bonus.

small claims suit, you have 6 months from when it happened.
here is the process.
File a complaint, and a claim for re reimbursement. it will get denied.
When it gets denied, take the department to small claims. bring any witness and statements and pics. also provide this when doing the claim
get a judgement and win! or loss. The cops will be on your ***. Good luck.

2 years ago I was literally on my way home from the body shop in my 4runner with a freshly painted front bumper. As I was sitting at a red light, a cop and a mini van haf a head on collision in the intersection. The cop hit the mini van so hard that it pushed the van straight into my front bumper. Even though every witness said it was the cops fault (he ran a red light, the mini van had a green arrow) Lakewood police refused to pay anything for the damage done to my 4runner.

Dude just call the station and speak o the Duty SGT or LT. They have claim forms for this stuff. It really should not turn into a big deal. Just have your facts ready before you call. Better yet just go down to the station with the SC and file a claim. It shouldent need to go to court.

yea, i dont plan on giving up. the fact is he used my car as his squad car to stop, handcuff and pat down the accused. im calling them back tomorrow after i go to a near by shop that my insurance set up to get a quote to fix. what i was told to do by a attorney is to just file it out through insurance and have the deductible paid by the state.
heres a few other pics
KEEP in mind thats flake (i wasnt thrilled with the idea at first but i like it), not dirt
^cracks on top of the trunk where the accused hand was thrown. must have had a watch -_-

whoa talk about irony... so they arrest someone for vandalizing cars ( something that usually comes out with rubbing alcohol....) but scrape your car to the metal and deny doing so ( a full respray.) interesting.
