no youre missing the main point. single stage paints are perfectly fine granted that one key factor youve pointed out above
if thats okay then youre perfectly justified going single stage. but then again doing after how many detailed washes and waxes would you come up to the same price as going a two stage paint? not very many!
either way im a first believer in supporting people with their own car choices! post pictures asap! and of the during process if you can.. thats my favorite stage

and i appeciate the opinions.. and feedback. its going to alot better than it does now my front bumper is a mess really bad paint chips and so is my hood...
ALSO question should i remove my spoiler for paint? and install it after paint?

depends on how the spoiler is mounted! if drilled or mounted with holes, youll be unable to take it off without repainting anyways . but id say do it anyways .
if you decide to go wingless you can juse use touchup paint.

Great progress! What grit sandpaper are you using wth the DA sander? And what do you usually do if you run into a small size dings? Do you sand it all the way down to bare metal and then apply bondo/filler? And then sand/feather it? But that's really all I have to do to my car as far as I can tell.
I'm trying to cut cost myself since my vehicle is left with 15-16 size small dings from the previous owner. Everything else is straight. I want to do most of the prepping and then take it to the painter to have it sprayed. Maybe I'll color-sand it afterwards depending how much they want for that as well.

Do yourself a favor. Remove all of the lights, window trim, grille, antenna, lock cylinders, etc.. The final result will be leaps and bounds better if you do this.
Also remove the handles, spoiler, mirrors, etc, and paint them separate. trust me, if you don't, you will regret it down the road.

we plan on taking it all he just left them on to do the body work
