Default Thinking of selling or parting out..

As the title states.. I am thinking of either selling or parting out my Lexus.. The drivers side wheel bearing went out.. put a new one in December 6th.. Went out again a week ago Friday.. got a new bearing under warranty, then realized my Spindle/Hub was bad.. Can get one of ArmysAuto for $50.. but it is used. I am tired of all the little things this car needs. The interior is a 4/10.. Body is about a 6-7/10.. Cluster lights work.. needles are shot.. Speedo is broken.. I paid $2300 for the car back in mid 2011.. What can I look to get out of it, OR total prices after parting it out? Not too sure what things cost used these days.. Any info would be great.

Interior shots can be taken here soon.

EDIT: The bottom picture is the most recent. Within a couple weeks.

selling parts via postal service isnt worth the headache in the slightest bit, nevermind parting a whole car!. id say sell as is or as a whole.

and on top of that if you part id say you can expect.... 500 from front end optimistically speaking, 50 bucks from tail lights. and if the interior is shot, who knows where you can go from there. its really not worth the headache. youll be better off selling it to a non enthusiast who's just looking for a beater.

Has a salvage title on it also.....

Worst case scenario, i'll scrap it out for at my Fathers friends yard.. or sell it for $1500..

If you had the money I would say drop a 1jz in it and go drift it until it's REALLY dead. If not, I agree with your plan. Try to see what someone will pay for it, or just scrap it.

The car itself is Solid. I drive it about 100 miles a day to and from work. I would love nothing more than to swap it, build it and keep it. But I need room in the driveway..And my wife keeps telling me I spend too much money and time with my car..LoL I'd sell it and put it towards a buy I suppose. IDk anymore. I know I am just tired of messing with it. Engine is primo, trans is perfect. Rear end is solid. New u-joints. No engine lights.. until the EGR throws a code. Then its on. But a simple fix taskes care of that.

Sell it now while it runs and drives for 1500 or wait until it's inop and sell it for scrap (300-400). Some kid will likely come along and buy it cuz it's got and "L" on it. Parting it out is no easy feat but you'll get the most that way (2-3K). And it takes many, many hours to tear it down. And you'll have parts lying around for the next several months...

The only time worth parting out a car is if it's totaled beyond repair. I see nothing wrong with that car...

Salvage title, Interior is stained/ripped/not complete, wheel bearing/new hub in rear needs installed. That's basically it.

+1 on this. Unless you plan on ditching the wife, better ditch the lexo. Then later down the road buy one in better shape with little to no problems to make you and the women happy

I agree. Keep the wife. Dump the Lexus. This one wasn't for you.

New cluster from a 1993 coming tomorrow for $50, new hub here tomorrow for $50.. New engine and trans on the way now. $700(1jz) Gotta love craigslist.

I guess I am keeping the car. Unless someone wants to buy it for $2000 without the 1j.

Had a bit of a breakdown there for a bit.. Love this car too much to give up on it.. And the wife gave me her blessing to build it right! Less arguing over funds now!!
