Default Should my speakers be pounding?

I cannot turn up the bass hardly more than normal position because then the trunk thumps..like something is loose. I have the stock system, no Nakamichi.
Do all SC's do this? It sounds ghetto-you always hear other cars sound the same....I really want to fix this, any ideas?

I have Nak upgrade, so i mgiht not be accurate for your situation, but the stock sub should make good enough bass for low reinforcement, but it certainly is not going to quad out like a real system would. Plus, its Free-Air, using the trunk as its box, not very good for deep rich bass. If your sound you hear is rattling, then you might have somthing loose, maybe your trunk latch or a panel is missing a clip, or somthing. If you are hearing a buzzing or patterpatter, then your sub mgiht be blown or have a tear or have the surround messed up.
