Last summer I also bought the vinyl carbon fiber from ebay - fixed my pillars much quicker than painting. It's harder to do a quality paint on them because the window trim is one piece rather than a removable panel. The fit is pretty good and it doesn't really stand out on an otherwise all-black car.

I have the CF stick-on currently (the body shop threw it on).
So, the "new" Pillars product is real thin now? What is the prep and is a it a "peel and stick" application?
The CF looks okay and is a thin stick-on but really wanted a gloss black like the original plastic pillars. The pictures you took appear almost as a flat black - is that misleading? I think the high gloss black is the best look..
