Default Help I bought a 93 sc300 hood doesn't line up with fenders ..

Do you guys know how to realign a hood. It's not matching up with the fenders.
Also the wheel on the passenger side is flushed with the fender but the driver side wheel is "sunk inside the fender"...What can that be? There's no front end damage.

Give us more information. Did you buy a new hood?, new fenders? Are they OEM?

I've owned 4 SC's over ten years and none have misaligned themselves just for sh7ts and giggles. In fact, none have misaligned themselves at all.

maybe spacer on one wheel and not the other?

OEM hood fenders and vertex front bumper.

There's no spacers but previous owner did cut the springs. One side looks like it's a bit lower.

i agree with enforcer sounds like possible front end damage that was poorly repaired, especially if they were rolling on cut springs .. springs are one of the cheapest investments mod wise . id try tweaking the bolts on the hood hinges see if that could help a little??

try adjusting spacers on the hood. my gs had them; i dont know if the SC has them or not. they look like rubber stoppers but if you turn them, they get shorter or longer.

Thoroughly inspect for any front end damage that may have occurred by the previous owner. See if the VIN on the hood and fenders match the body's VIN, if not, then the car has been in a bad front end collision and the suspension could be trashed as well.

The fact that the previous owner cut the springs on the car is not good news. Hopefully that's not the only thing jimmy rigged on the SC.

I replaced a fender on my sc a year or two ago and had the same problem, I loosened up the bolts on the top of the fender and wiggled it into a tight fit and tightened them back down looks great now, no gap. The fact that it had cut springs worries me that some of the guys might be right. could be something scary lurking in the dark

Most of the time when you replace a bumper, fender, hood or anything body wise your going to have some alignment issues. If you say there is no front end damage, then I guess there is none. Just take it step by step by aligning your hood and fenders first since they are oem still. Once you get that done adjust your bumper, just remember it will never be perfect like oem. Replace those cut springs as soon as you can, its not good on your suspension.

could your subframe be mounted funny, like if someone wanted to do subframe bushings and kinda mis-aligned it?

when was the last time you had it aligned?

if "sunk in" is like 1/2 inch than it might have to do with the alignment
read on another forum about that being a problem due to bad alignment, not sure how to be honest though
good luck

Yes it definitely sounds like you have a pretty serious front end issue, not all accidents get documented unfortunately.

Going to a body shop is your best bet, you will get some answers there forsure.

Good luck
