One of my favorite things to do is get an old beater and work on it until it resembles a car. Just don't put any real money into it since it is salvage and you'll be ok. Think about a number you're comfortable with and tell yourself you'll never go past that amount and you'll enjoy the car forever.

My car was $800. I'm at about $2k including tires and new (to me) door panels & seats. I hope to not pass $3k to make it a dependable daily that's fun to drive. There's not a lot left except some misc interior bits and a LS brake upgrade.

As far as my wheels, they may not be fancy but the price was right and they beat the hell out of the stock wheels it was on -- and it's guaranteed they'll clear the big brakes.

I wish I had space in my driveway to find deals like these and fix them up. I have a problem of going over the limit of what I want to spend usually.... Your grand total so far is nice.

next thing to tackle on my list of repairs is the suspension the back struts are weak and the front suspension is making some noise so I will be on the hunt for some used front lca's that I can rebuild with new bushings and then install and as far as the struts I am looking at different coil over setups trying to figure out what would be the best one's to use

so since i was out getting a photo for post a pic at the pump i decided that wasnt enough so we got this one

and then a moment after that photo was taken and since we were in the highschool parking lot a local city cop pulled up just seeing what we were up at midnight but then agreed to let us take a pic with his cruiser and the lights running...score one for a cool cop not that many out there
