Default Steering Wheel help

a tall friend of mine had a minor accident with his sc400. While getting into his car his knee hit the bottom of the steering wheel and apparently broke a motor on it. while it will still move back and forward it will no longer move up and down and makes a annoying clicking sound when you try to do so. Has anyone else had this happen and if so how did you correct it?

prolly easy fix. Put in a new thicker washer behind the plastic gear and put back together. Pretty straight forward.
