Good timing on this one.
I am looking for Denso Iridium for the SC400. Anyone have a part #? Sparkplugs.com doesn't give the part numbers.

Thanks-RT

Guys, What's the deal with the Iridium plugs? Are they really worth the money? There are a bunch on eBay and they claim that there is a major HP increase. Is that really true? I find it hard to believe. And what about the Bosch +4?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Cool

A few people have tried them, do a search for "iridium AND plugs". Results seem mixed, most people do a few other changes at the same time so it's hard to tell. Also, I haven't found anyone who's put in fresh normal copper plugs, dynoed, then installed the iridium's and dynoed.
The reason I'm installing them is because, from what I've read, it takes 3.5 hours to do the plugs on an SC300 and I don't want to do them again for a very long time. Denso Iridiums come in flavours, Long life, Power and Performance. The long life version is rated for 150,000km.
In any case, check out the Denso site, you'll notice they're very careful about stating claims of higher performance. Here's an excerpt from the Q/A (densoiridium.com), draw your own conclusion.

"Q. What kind of performance will I get from this plug?
A. Generally, you do not purchase spark plugs for performance enhancement. While DENSO Iridium Power spark plugs have contributed to numerous accomplishments through dyno-testing and actual use, their true benefit lies in their efficiency, durability, and improved firing power. Serious tuners modify their vehicles by increasing boost through turbo-chargers, super-chargers, and Nitrous. They are also known to add high-energy ignition systems, tinker with timing, adjust fuel mixture ratios, and increase horsepower through other means. Putting these kinds of demands on their engine increases the need for an efficient, durable spark plug that can handle these kind of harsh environments. That’s where DENSO Iridium Power can make a major difference. "

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I put the +4's in an old Saturn SC2 I had and didn't notice a difference. I should have taken them up on money back guarantee. Also, according to electronics, electricity takes the path of least resistance so it would seem that only one of the four prongs are actually getting used?
