Like everyone else said, keep up on maintaining your car, and when you get bored and your car is warmed up give it some gas!

Treat your car with respect and it will most likely last u a very long time.

I like to give it a little throttle from time to time when i get some open road but aside from that im pretty easy on my car.

These cars are made very strong but they are also very old and i guarantee if you start being hard on your car and engine you will soon be encountering problems of one kind or another.

Its a luxury cruiser not a race car.

My stock 150k mile head gasket is working just fine... at 11 psi nonetheless all throughout the rpm range and up to redline.

How hard you can drive an SC400 is directly proportional to how much gas you can afford!

I know my sc300 have a different motor, and is a W58 transmission. BUT, I jump on my car like a monkey with a club. I warm it up every start though. And get oil changes every 1000-500 miles before its actually due. It too has had major maintenance like gaskets, water pumps, hoses and belts. As long as you MAINTAIN the vehicle mechanically you can floor it to your hearts desire.

Toyota didn't spend $400,000,000 back in 1988 on developing the 1UZ for nothing.

As long as the car is warmed up, you can redline all day if you wanted. Just don't rev a cold engine...

Well I went out with the intention of beating the crap out of it, but I never had the need to go over 2.5k today lol. Car is powerful enough. Right before I bought this sc400 I was driving a 92hp 1.5L hyundai accent. So, I mean idk.... This car seems plenty beast to me. Someday... some civic will rev it up to me and I will probaly redline it then.... but for now.... nothing.

One day on my way home from work I was having a spirited drive and redlined my SC400. CEL popped on for a vacuum leak. Turns out my valve cover was cracked and the seals were blown. Replaced them and my car hadn't seen 4k since. :-( I'm a little uneasy.
